Killer is Dead, the latest game from Suda51 has given a release date: 27 August 2013. So it wont be too much longer until you can start ogling at and picking up the range of virtual women.
In fact, the launch copies will come with some bonuses aimed at driving early sales. The launch bonuses include a soundtrack CD, an 80-page hardcover art book, and a “Smooth Operator” DLC pack with:
- Gigolo Glasses
- Alternate costume for Vivienne and Mika
- A bonus Gigolo Mission with Betty
- An additional episode with the vampiric Sebastian
For those who aren’t aware, the premise of the game is:
KILLER IS DEAD is set in a contemporary world where bio-mechanical augmentation is increasingly common. Players control Mondo Zappa, a professional ‘Executioner’ who wields a sword in his right hand while brandishing interchangeable weapons in his left artificial arm. Mondo encounters all manner of violent adversaries in his global trek to fulfil contracts for ridding the world of its most nefarious criminals.
There is a gigolo mode in the game that has garnered some controversy, wherein the player chats up women in bars, uses x-ray specs to look at their undies and tries to get them home for a one-night-stand. Yup, sounds like a horrible game. Somehow, I wonder why this gets so much flak when I distinctly remember playing the Playboy game and spending all my time trying to get Carmen Electra to sleep with random photographers so that my pictures would be better. But, what do I know?
