ps4jailbreak

Rumours circulated this weekend that Sony’s new console had already been hacked wide open, enabling pirated games to be played. The source of much of this hubbub is a pastebin document, purporting to have links to files that would allows the console to run unsigned code.

This is what the pastebin doc says:

As you all know, PS4 runs Orbis OS, that is highly based on FreeBSD (which is a opensource operating system), and as the PS4 is closely identical to a PC, I guess you all knew that PS4 and the Xbox One will probably end up getting pwned soon, and now..its time.

NOTE: I did not find this vulnerability within PS4, nor did I write the exploit, while I was browsing thru an Brazilian console-hacking forum known as condinh0 (I am sure you all know this if you hang out at TOR). A person named x-s4nd3r released the devkit of PS4, as well as the exploit within 5 days of PS4 release. Although most of you don’t know how to apply that jailbreak on the PS4, I am making this tutorial to sort this shit out for you.

What follows is s series of links and instructions on how to install said jailbreak. Only, it’s unlikely that the jailbreak even exists. We’ve followed the links – which link to Deposit files, however it appears the files have been removed..or have they? Deposit Files is a dumbsite; so any links after the “/files” url will be a valid address, and say that the file it points to has been removed. Here’s a link of my own that does the same. https://depositfiles.com/files/darrynisaladyboy.

The “jailbreak” hasn’t been mirrored anywhere else on the entire internet – which is a giant alarm bell that says “this thing is fake.” And that’s good news for the PS4.

It took years for the PlayStation 3 to be hacked, and even then it’s still too much effort for the average Joe. the Xbox 360, on the other hand had security that was relatively easy to circumvent, and it’s made an appreciable difference to the number of Xbox 360 copies of games local retailers stock. There are more Xbox 360’s in the country, yet more PS3 software sales by a considerable margin.

Well the closer the consoles moves towards being a PC the easier it will get probably. That and every time they hacked it Sony just released a new patch.

Back in 2005 the price difference was so ridiculous between the two consoles that I think a lot of PS2 people jumped ship to the Xbox 360…. Myself included…. That is why I think Microsoft have been idiots to not at least let us know when we will get the Xbox ONE… They are throwing away all their good will that they picked up with us…

Pretty much. although I’d like to see how the xbox 360s sales trend changed over the years. I think initially they made good grounds in South Africa, but RROD, shitty local xbox live (yes it’s still pretty kak) and zero support (initially) probably gutted that. So while there might be a lot more xbox 360s in South Africa than PS3s (I owned 4 xbox 360s vs 1 PS3), I have to ask what does the annual sales say?

        Did Microsoft drop the ball?

I am on my 3rd Xbox 360, and yeah still on my first PS3!! Had a conversation on twitter with the Xbox PR manager and he says that they won’t lose sales because they have the games…. Hahaha… I think he missed the point….

“There are more Xbox 360’s in the country, yet more PS3 software sales by a considerable margin” This statement is bullsh** lol over the years the ps3 versions on milt-platform games rarely if ever made it to the all platform software sale charts if they did they where lower on the list than the 360 version ?

“There are more Xbox 360’s in the country, yet more PS3 software sales by a considerable margin.”

Could also be due to the RRoD issue which scrapped 30-50% of the consoles w/in the first 2-4 years. Though, nobody likes to point that out when talking about sales, I mean, imagine how it’d look if we actually applied known failure rates to the sales data of the first 2-4 years of the 360’s life?
