If you were hoping – nay, wishing that Blizzard might unexpectedly release Diablo III at Blizzcon, their annual “all-things-Blizzard” convention, then you’re going to be might disappointed. There won;t be one this year. It’s on hiatus until 2013, with Blizzard citing its “jam-packed schedule” as the reason. It does mean that we’ll have to wait a whole year to see more women dressed up as sexy night-elves.
"We’re also heavily focused on getting Diablo 3, [World of Warcraft expansion] Mists of Pandaria, and [StarCraft 2] Heart of the Swarm into players’ hands as soon as possible. In light of our jam-packed schedule, we’ve decided to hold the next BlizzCon in 2013," Blizzard explained.
Don’t worry though, Blizzard fans; it doesn’t mean that there’ll be no big announcements from the company. Instead, they’ve decided to keep all things Blizzard for the 2012 Battle.net World Championship in Asia towards the year’s end. Bummer for those in the US who wanted to attend this year, but I can imagine those craft Koreans are beyond excited.
