New n tasty

Have you played the Abe’s Oddysee remake, New ‘n’ Tasty? I haven’t, even though I’ve been wanting to for a long time. I grabbed a Playstation 4 copy off PS Plus last month, but I can’t play it yet because, well, I don’t own Sony’s latest console yet. There is a PlayStation 3 port out now, and a Vita one on the way too; I could play those, except I’d have to now pay money to do so, or at least, I would’ve had to. The developers have announced that those versions of New ‘n’ Tasty are free to those who picked it up on PS Plus last month.

This is great news for those, like me, who don’t own a PlayStation 4. Here’s the official announcement (via Polygon):

When the PS4 version of New ‘n’ Tasty was featured in March 2015’s PlayStation Plus line-up, the PS3 and PS Vita versions were very much still in development (indeed, the PS Vita version still is) and so it was our intention then that only the PS4 version of the game would form part of the PS Plus system.

Developing the other versions of the game is not a simple, cost-free process, and takes time, money and considerable effort.

That said, numerous factors (including fan feedback) have prompted us to change our stance on this particular matter. So, if you downloaded New ‘n’ Tasty for PS4 during the PS Plus period, the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game will be free for download for you on release.

That is stupidly nice of them, it really is. They have absolutely no reason to do this, but, unlike many developers, they are actually listening to their fans, and giving them something for nothing. Now I can finally play my beloved childhood classic, in all its new HD glory.

NICE!!! Thought it was a bit weird when it said “(PS3) (PS Vita) (PS4)” in the trophies menu.
