Do we need another first person shooter game set in a realistic wartime setting?
No.. we really don’t, Call of Duty and Battlefield have the genre sewn up tighter than.. let’s not go there.
But either way we have another one coming and it’s a new Medal of Honor (Honour) and EA have now released some artwork and a subtitle.
According to rumours Medal of Honor: Warfighter is going to be released in October this year which will put it head to head with the colossus that is Call of Duty Black Ops 2 that will release in the first or second week of November (guessing)
Granted this strategy worked pretty well for Battlefield 3 but not to put a dampener on anyone at EA, there is a big difference between the rabbid fans of the Battlefield series and the fans of the Medal of Honor series.
Maybe I’ll be wrong again but I expect this title to be obliterated by the Call of Duty behemoth in the end of year sales and in all honesty I wouldn’t be too sad to see the back of this franchise.
Also a quick tip for EA, releasing a Battlefield 1 year and a Medal of Honor the next and then another Battlefield is the same as what Activision is doing with Call of Duty. We’re not fooled so how about trying something uniquely different to get your number one spot back?
