Ask most Final Fantasy fans which game was the best, and someone is sure to vote for FF VII. Not everyone agrees that it was the BEST, but most agree that it was fantastic. Now, Lightning Returns is looking to tap into that nostalgia.

Yes, you saw that right – if you pre-order the game, you can get “Cloud Strife/ Final Fantasy VII Gear”. Now, this is a Valentine’s Day present that I don’t want. It’s bad enough that they gave Lightning bigger boobs that move, and that this iteration in the franchise is horrible and has had far too many sequels, don’t pilfer through my happy memories to try to steal back some fans. Just make a better game!
Here are some screenshots from the game. At least it looks like Sazh will be playing a bigger role again – he was my favorite character from FFXIII, even if he was just a pure racial stereotype.

You missed some bad ones.
I’m considering getting FF VII from Steam. It’s cheap and apparently has updated graphics. But these old games aren’t always as epic when you re-play them after so many years.
Only a few oldies have really been just as good on re-play for me.

I finished the steam version yesterday… and its as good if not better than i remember it. such an awesome game. just wish they re-release 8 and 9 too…

Not too sure Squeenix operates in such a manner, but then again, the pure fact that they added in the bouncy boobs bit already leads to so many questions. Its definitely not the modus operandi they usually follow

Put down that sword bitch. You have no right to lay your hands on it. That sword is a symbol that stands for the greatness that was the Final Fantasy series. It reminds us of a time when the death of a gentle soul riled up an entire generation of gamers to seek justice from Sephiroth. That single moment when she died will stand forever as a defining time in gaming.
It also reminds us that the story and gameplay in a RPG is what truly matters. Graphics,annoying voice overs and a cast of westernized characters has made a mockery of the legacy left bu Cloud,Tifa,Barret and the rest.

I swear FF7 is far superior than FF13. The characters didn’t even have voices FFS and it was still entertaining as they had to rely on gestures to convey their emotion. Truly an art form has been lost.
