There are some damn good reasons to play The Last Of Us, according to people who have done so. There’s the solid voice acting, breathtaking character animation, a gripping story and truly terrifying enemies who will make you afraid of shrooms. But the main reason to grab the game on PlayStation 4, might not be for the shinier update. It’s for the chance to snap some pics.
“We made a slew of cool additions to The Last of Us Remastered to create the definitive The Last of Us game, but one of the features we’re most excited about is Photo Mode,” Naughty Dog’s Community Strategist Eric Monacelli wrote on the PS Blog.
After all, what’s a beautiful post pandemic landscape if you can’t share some good pictures of it?
Photo Mode is activated through the pause screen. You can activate it by simply tapping L3 to freeze the action in-game as long you aren’t in a cutscene. Camera control, field of view, and depth of field adjustments will help you frame the perfect shot. Aesthetically, you can add one of ten different color filters and adjust its intensity.
You can choose to give your photo a vignette or even select from a selection of eleven different frames. If you like the look of film grain, you can add that as well. There are a ton of options for you to explore.
Photo Mode arrives in Patch 1.01 for The Last of Us Remastered, as a PS4 exclusive. Sorry PS3 owners of the game, you get no such snappy additions. The Last Of Us Remastered is out from tomorrow. Skinny jeans, ridiculously complicated coffee orders and an album from a band that you’ve probably never heard of, not included.

He’s not actually reading. He’s passive-aggressively displaying his disregard for these bourgeoisie notions of social etiquette & interaction. The book is but a prop, much like our meaningless lives in the drama that is existence.
