Multiple Endings for Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate

Batman mega man
Coming to PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate follows in the footsteps of Mega Man and lets you choose the order in which you fight the bosses. This choice will affect the outcome of the game.

Game director Mark Pacini gives details about what he finds interesting in Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate:

“It’s about a ten hour game first time through. What’s interesting is, as we mentioned before that you can defeat the bosses in any order you want, the boss that you leave for last dictates the last half hour of the game. The player will get items he couldn’t get before based on who he leaves last.
“You can play the game three times through, get different things each time and the ending is different each time. Along with that we have suits that are only unlockable playing in a certain order. Each suit has a particular perk to it.”

I wonder if it will take ten hours regardless of how you complete it – this could turn into a 30 hour completionist mission. It’s nice to see the attention to detail for a game coming to handheld. I just hope this game adds something extra to the Batman: Arkham Origins experience.

Considering how much indie loving the Vita is getting, and the growing popularity of the 3DS, I have a feeling we’re going to see a resurgence in handheld popularity.

Sweet. So a side scrolling Batman Megaman type game? Damn that sounds awesome. Also here’s a question ‘How do you know if Batman news is good news? Answer Batman.’

I really hope it’s not going to be a Mass Effect 3 style of multiple endings or a Bioshock style of making an arbitrary decision and getting a different result.

This should be a blast on Vita, although is it not a bit odd that the exact same game (just lower res and in 3D) is also being released on 3DS? Tells me they’re not using the Vita to its full potential…
