Minecraft just may be one of the most popular games of all time, because numbers don’t lie. Unlike those filthy consonants that promised me the wrld.
Minecraft just clocked over 14 million sales for PC and Mac platforms, which means that the game has now sold over 35 million copies. Sold, not shipped, sold. Announced by creator Markus “Notch” Persson via Twitter, the total tally now clocks the game in at the peak sales point of a Call of Duty annual release.
The computer version of Minecraft has now sold 14 million copies. Celebrating by having no idea how to play Lego marvel on ps4!

So how did those 35 million sales break down on other platforms? Well the PlayStation 3 version has now sold over 1 million times, while the Xbox 360 version has shifted 10 million sales. Throw in the pocket edition, and that’s another 10 million sales back in May 2013 according to PlayerAttack. That’s…that’s a lot of blocks.
It’s not hard to see why the game is so damn popular. It’s more about creating digital wonders of the world than mindless destruction, with some gamers having built everything from massive castles to the starship Enterprise. I’ve seen things in Minecraft that you wouldn’t believe. Attack zombies on fire off the shoulder of the Orion Pictures memorial. I’ve watched C-blocks glitter in the dark near the Persson gate. All those moments lost in time, like tears in the digital rain.
I’m also legally obligated to tell you that Gavin’s daughters are Minecraft whizz-kids, so go give their channel some views and subscriptions if my comic book collection means anything to you.

It’s more addictive than crack cocaine once you get into it. Especially if you play with other people.

I have only played the clone of it called minetest. And I can understand how Minecraft can be so addictive

One of many for me, but again mindless for me, never got this. That being said I have seen a few pics of what people have done and there are some seriously talented people out there.

I really enjoy Minecraft, it’s fun seeing what wonders you can create. My friend on the other hand doesn’t enjoy Minecraft but spends hours on Terraria… which looks (to me, it’s my opinion, leave me alone!) as a 2D Minecraft clone… so that makes no sense to me.
I will have to get Terraria to see what the hype’s about 😛

I own Minecraft… I am part of a really cool community that makes the most random crap on the planet on our “building” server… really, it makes no sense what so ever. I heard about saminecraft a while back and joined for a short period of time, but I don’t play enough to make it worth it.
I have a lot more friends that play Terraria, so that’s the main thing driving me towards it.
