Medal of Honour: Warfighter will pit international Special Forces against each other

Hey, lookie here, it’s another contemporary warfare game wherein America saves the day! USA! USA! USA! Oh wait, this might not actually be the case in the upcoming Medal of Honour: Warfighter, as it looks players will get to flex their various special forces muscles from around the world this time, as several other international military groups are making their way into the game.

“We’re really excited because we’re doing something a little different with the game”, Danger Close’s Rich Farrelly told AusGamers.

Medal of Honor has traditionally been an American-centric storyline. But talking to the guys, they were always telling us about all these different units that they’ve worked with around the world and how they’re every bit as good as they are and they have a lot of respect for them.

So we thought, what better way to honour these guys than to create a multiplayer game that basically highlights 12 different units of the top of the top of all the militaries of the world – from ten different nations – in a multiplayer game.

Farelly wasn’t willing to divulge too many other details, but he did reveal that groups such as the UK SAS, Australian SASR, Polish GROM and German KSK would find their way into the game.

“One other thing that I can talk about is that we have a blue on blue playlist that we’re doing,” Farrelly said.

Again, after talking to our consultants, there always talking about improving themselves and measuring themselves up against the next guy and how it makes them better operators. So we thought ‘ok, why not have a kind of blue on blue header’, SEALs versus Delta versus SAS, who’s better? Well let’s find out.

Put ‘em in the ring and let ‘em duke it out.

Farrelly has confirmed that more multiplayer details will be revealed at E3 this year, and that the online component of the game will developed in-house, as opposed to the DICE developed multiplayer from the previous MOH game.
