I’ll be honest; I haven’t really paid much attention to Dontnod Entertainment’s new episodic adventure title, Life is Strange. It’s a massive departure from the studio’s previous work on Remember Me, cashing on the buzz surrounding adventure titles and their broken up nature. It didn’t really catch my eye – until I watched this latest trailer for the first episode.

Like most other adventure titles, Life is Strange will allow you to make decisions that affect the outcomes of several events, with the story branching in all sorts of directions. Unlike most other adventure games though, you’ll have the chance to bring those decisions to the foreground and actually play several of them out at any given time. That’s because Life is Strange features a rather interesting time rewind mechanic, which could impact your decision making in a big way,

I get a distinct Heavy Rain feeling from watching protagonist Max stroll through her daily life and somehow get tangled up in some unpleasant business. I’m interested to see how the game deals with the ability to essential reverse and change massive decisions, since having to live with bad ones is what makes modern adventure games so tense and gut wrenching. Maybe there’s a limit to how far you can rewind? Or a play on the theory that some events are just destined to happen, not matter how differently they are approached?

The game is going to be split up into five episodes, with the first launching on January 30th. Suffice to say, Life is Strange has my attention now, and I actually can’t wait to give it a go. Do you feel the same way?

  1. Feel exactly the same way…..Trailer gave me goosies. Very ’emo teen’, all that’s needed is an Ed Sheeran song for some teen loving 😛

Damn, extremely excited…January is a good month. RE: reREmake, Dying Light and now this. MUCH EXCITE

Nice! Really glad to hear you’re enjoying it. I can understand why people bashed it, but I don’t feel it deserved the hate

My only real criticism of it is that it’s VERY linear. Otherwise there’s very little wrong with it, it’s fun to play.

Totally agree with you. Really fun game (something alot of games seem to forget about recently). Don’t understand why it got so much flack when it was released.

Yup, I would’ve like more freedom, the world they made is begging for it as well as more Memory sequences to toy around with

Fun game when played with a console controller on the PC. With keyboard and mouse, not so much.

That is the fantastic thing about creativity and people blessed with creativity, especially regarding the arts and gaming. There will always be a FPS for the die hard fan, a plethora of RPG’s for those who love them, you name it. I welcome any game/s like this that breaks the standards and norms (except those sick rape games), because there is zero limit to where your imagination can take you!

I was surprised about The Walking Dead getting GOTY at the 2012 VGAs. I tried it out, I was hooked. But zero replay value.

REMEMBER ME WAS FANTASTIC once you unlocked all of the combos on the new game plus.

A pity it did not sell, having a female on the cover just does not work in this dumb jock hobby.

        Yip ;P
It might have been the French theme but Unity proves that wrong. Probably the CAPCOM logo that gets allot of hate. Or the short hair like Faith in Mirrors Edge.

Who knows, gamers lost out on this one while they all over hyped Deus es.

Its thanks to REMEMBER ME that 2015 will be rembered (excuse the pun) for the TIME shifting mechanic in Quantum Break.

ALSO Remember Me has the best sound track on the 7th gen. IT BEATS TRON.

If the controls aren’t Heavy Rain-like, I might consider it. I don’t like Heavy Rain’s gameplay style or camera. It is simply annoying
