There’s nothing worse than being stuck on a server you hate, with all your assets you worked so hard to obtain. Level, currency and items aren’t things you can just throw away. Starting over on a new server is a giant pain in the butt. This doesn’t only apply to MMO’s, but MOBA’s too. Riot Games have been working hard to eliminate this headache from their game, and have finally made account transfers available between servers.
Players can now transfer between the North American and European servers for 2600 Riot Points, but are warned that they should be absolutely sure before they finalise it. Riot Games point out that the process is not reversible. The announcement was made via the League of Legends forums. Riot Games have also taken into account the unfortunate European summoners who created their account on the North American server prior to 1 June 2010 and weren’t able to move to the European platform when it launched, and will be giving them a free one time transfer token.
Additionally some EU veterans whose accounts pre-date the launch of the European servers and have two accounts as a result (i.e. a NA and EU account) are also being given a “very special, one-time opportunity” to merge their two accounts intone account on the EU server.
I like bacon and games, and occasionally I say something coherent about it. I'm not old or cynical, and I'm not the Dork Knight. I AM SHE-RA! Wait, what?
