Jailed Megaupload boss is no longer the greatest MW3 player in the world Popular

kim-dotcom

In case you haven’t heard, Megaupload is mega-dead. The Feds came down on the file-sharing service with the wrath of Kratos last week, seizing its assets and jailing key staff members.

One of those members, was none other than piracy czar Kim Dotcom himself, the founder and owner of the site that openly flaunted anti-piracy rules and softly encouraged users to share all the files that they could.

He’s been indicted on multiple charges, and now it looks like the jailed founder is about to lose his most cherished possession of all. His world number one Modern Warfare 3 ranking.

With Dotcom (Formerly Kim Schultz) having been denied bail and awaiting extradition from New Zealand, his beloved number one ranking has fallen into the hands of Arazos, a player with over 181 000 kills and a kill/death ratio of 2.87, who doesn’t happen to be digital crime kingpin.

You can just imagine how much this is eating Dotcom up on the inside, as he loved the game so much that he actually recorded the moment when he achieved his number one ranking.

Maybe Dotcom can pretend that he’s in the gulag mission from MW2 when he’s eventually jailed.

The whole Megaupload saga sounds very iffy, and sure it’s easy to make fat jokes, or diss Dotcom for being a wealthy SOB, but as Jonathan Coulton puts it….

is he trolling or is it actually happening, if it’s the truth then I’m overjoyed that those recording artists are getting the money due to them from direct music sales.

      • http://twitter.com/JimLenoir James Lenoir

Nope, he’s being sarcastic, because obviously the money isn’t rolling in. He’s an unsigned artist who used megaupload as a platform to release his music.

        • Anonymous

And it’s difficult for independent artists to share their music on sites that don’t have questionable practices….why?

Oh wait, it isn’t.  My friend Nate who’s in a band, is constantly sharing new samples of his music that he’s improving everyday.  If one File-sharing site going down somehow makes or breaks you as an artist, you weren’t worth a pot to piss in, to begin with.

Wow the Aussies really know how to hold their ankles for the Americans, holding people without real proof, yet cant extradite great big South African Fraudsters and Murderers?

    • Anonymous

Don’t you mean Kiwi’s?  I believe New Zealand and Australia are two different places?

And let’s not pretend most of the world doesn’t cave to the American Government’s ridiculous bullshit, hell, I figured the rest of the world had no testicles up until the whole SOPA thing.

      • http://www.lazygamer.net Gavin Mannion

Nah we all know New Zealand is just the mini love child of Australia and America.. also the reason he’s being held is because his servers (some of them) were in America and therefore he committed a crime on US soil and NZ and America have extradition treaties in place.

He really should have lived somewhere else, like Brazil

        • Anonymous

Oh I certainly know the reasoning behind his detainment, it’s been all over the news in the States (especially since anonymous hit the FBI/DOJ public websites).  Just saying, there’s a difference between Australia and New Zealand (believe me, having spoken to people on both sides about it, neither appreciates being referred to as the other LOL…WoW was great for learning cultural differences, I’ll give it that).

He really should’ve been more careful about his business practices in general, it sounds like.
