I learned to adore Jack Black’s voice acting during Brutal Legend, where his performance was pure genius. Now, Double Fine has announced that he has returned to their sound studio for their Kickstarted project, Broken Age.
Double Fine has recruited a range of old and new voice actors for their point-and-click adventure, including Jack Black, Jennifer Hale, David Kaufman, John Cygan, Jamieson Price, Nick Jameson, and Richard Horvitz. The voices are actually sounding pretty cool, as can be heard in this casting reveal video:
Broken Age tells the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives – both needing to fight against the status quo to find their freedom and go on adventures. If you haven’t seen the teaser trailer yet, you can check it out here:
I’m happy to see the production value that Double Fine is bringing to Broken Age. Having quality voice actors can make a world of difference. I just hope they aren’t pushing the game too far – they already had to split it in two in the hopes of raising enough cash with the first half to fund the second half. This can be the problem with raising so much money through Kickstarter – the project becomes something very different. I’m curious to see how it turns out.
