We’ve all been there before. Neck deep in one of the most epic matches ever, with neither player giving each other the advantage in a free for all death-match that has lasted for well over several hours already. And then that guy shows up.

You know the one we’re talking about. All of a sudden, not even a full clip at point-blank range can drop him, while he’s handing out headshots left and right, without the slightest hint that said player has actually practiced at this game.

Its obvious that we’re dealing with a cheater, and while the law prohibits us from sending lethal electrical currents into the conniving computers, at least developer Infinity Ward has plans to make certain that cheating is dealt with thoroughly on their side.

Anyone who played some online Modern Warfare 2 will know what we’re talking about, as the game was brimming with these parasites, infecting the servers with their aim-bots and instant-kills scripts.

Modern Warfare 3 however, is making certain that their PC audience doesn’t suffer such problems when the title launches in November. "There’s been a lot of work put into it", Infinity Wards Robert Bowling explained to GameSpy.

"I can’t go into specifics. On a general high level area there’s so much more stuff that we’ve locked down and made less accessible than we had before. A lot of stuff that we stripped out, a lot more challenge response things that we’re doing in addition to."

Bowling explained, that with Challenge Response, Infinity Ward could verify whether a code was aligning correctly on both sides of the server, thus sniffing out cheaters a lot more quickly.

"It’s also about our ability to take action when stuff is wrong so we’ve done a lot of work in our ability to update the game more quickly and efficiently than we have before”, Bowling said. "A lot of that stuff can be done through Elite that we can review. "Then we have tools to report player stuff in game that players can use, and we’ll have entire teams monitoring and taking actions on those”.

"A lot of that stuff, the monitoring stuff, a lot of that was introduced in Black Ops but with Elite that is launching with Modern Warfare 3, we’re taking that in an all new area, having full teams dedicated solely to that”.

If there’s one thing the majority of gamers cant stand, apart from each others gaming platform of choice, its always going to be those filthy cheaters. And short of hanging them by their thumbs, it looks like Infinity Ward has come with a decent solution to nip the problem in the bud.
