Heroes of the Storm gets some scary new skins

VROOOOOOOM

Halloween is just a few short weeks away. It brings with it the usual costume wearing shenanigans and an increase in candy sales by 9862%. It also ushers in a brief period of lots of themed content across several games. Blizzard for example spend the latter part of October celebrating what they call Hallow’s End – basically Halloween, but with an almost completely different name! What content can Heroes of the Storm fans expect?

Skins of course, the very thing Blizzard puts out when their pockets are feeling just a teeny bit too light.

A spooky batch of skins will be available for our upcoming Hallow’s End celebration. Check out Countess Kerrigan, Skelethur Abathur, and our first Legendary Skin Infested Tychus.

The Tychus skin really does look awesome. I’m just wondering how much it will cost – especially considering that something simple like a mount costs us anywhere from R120-240. Seeing as the Tychus skin is legendary, I’m willing to bet that it will cost around R300-400.

That’s not all Blizzard have been working on though. Check out these other (cash printing) skins for the new heroes, Anub’arak and Azmodan.

Anub’arak, the Traitor King and Azmodan, the Lord of Sin, are now available in the Heroes of the Storm Technical Alpha.

Heroes of the Storm only just reached the end of its Technical Alpha. I can’t even access the game at the moment as it’s still down in my region. I’d much rather Blizzard put all their effort into fixing up the game and speeding it along to the official release, rather than kitting out heroes for top dollar. The former is obviously the less profitable route. If you don’t have access to the game yet, expect to wait a long, long time – we’re talking Blizzard here.

    Am I missing something here?

They are releasing skins for a game, skins that have to be bought, for a game that isnt available yet to the general public.

Also, it isnt that the skins have longevity in that you would want your hero to wear them for Easter as they are targeted for October and Halloween. Again, generally the public doesn’t have access yet in the creepy month of October…

Yes, I must be missing something…

Blizz likes to add special timed events in-game that coincide with real events. So I am assuming you can only buy (or maybe earn) those items during the event but as with their other games you can wear it whenever.

This is just conjecture on my part though.

Nope, you’re not missing anything. Blizzard are already charging top dollar for mounts and other skins ^_^ Once bought though, you can use the skins whenever, not just for October (at least, I’m assuming). And yes, no idea when the game will officially released 🙁
