I should be embarrassed, but I’m not – I loved the original Harvest Moon games. I remember playing the original – tilling my perfect field and cheating on my wife. Ah, the memories of sowing my seed. The franchise is back, and it’s better than ever.
Here is the new trailer for Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley. It shows off some rather cool features, and reveals the most important bit of new information – the game is launching in EU regions in Q1 2015.
In what appears to be Minecraft meets Harvest Moon, The Lost Valley is promising a whole bunch of new gameplay, including bridge building and cave digging:
While the gameplay stays true to previous Harvest Moon games, Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley takes you into a fully 3D environment to open up new possibilities. Dig down into the earth to create caves, stack dirt high to form mountains, build roads and bridges to explore new areas, create your own fishing ponds or crop fields and much, much more! And with new context-sensitive actions available to help with the work, shaping your own world has never been so easy.
The game will be coming early next year – are you prepared to help sow the seed for a new world? Are you going to plough and mine and fish with all the ladies? I have normally loved these games, although others of its ilk just irritate me – I’m not sure why. I suppose considering the nature of this game, I will have to pass the reviewing burden on to Matthew while I enjoy the game at my own pace.
