GTA Online players are getting a Christmas gift

I’ve got a score to settle with Rockstar. Or at least one to plan, prepare for and execute perfectly. Synchronise cheap watches bought at the robots, on the count of 3, lads. GTA Online heists are finally, finally, coming to the game. But that won’t be until next year. Which means that you need to be a tad bit more patient. But at least Rockstar will be making it up to players, with a Christmas gift.

In a Q&A session on the official site, Rockstar addressed the patience of the GTA Online community for waiting since 2013 for heists to be added to the game. “We, as a company, have always been about trying to make something that is good rather than hitting a date,” Rockstar said when speaking about the delay.

We apologize when this gets frustrating but firmly believe that rushing out second-rate content does not do anyone any favors. Hopefully you agree that yesterday’s new Trailer is a sign that Heists are shaping up nicely, but we still need some time to fine tune them.

Because we need a little time to get Heists right, we are going to give you a small Christmas gift to keep you entertained until we are done with them.

So what kind of christmas gift will players find underneath the tree? I’m hoping that it’s a mission that allows you to go on a rampage and kill Jimmy, but I doubt I’ll be that lucky. That hasn’t stopped the GTA Online community from speculating however, with some suggesting that a gift drop similar to the recent Independence Day DLC will be included in the next update. In other words, maybe a new, gun or some in-game cash.

“We prefer to keep such things as a surprise, but without giving away any details (no peeking under the tree!), we can say that we do have a few seasonal treats in the works for players on all four systems to enjoy this coming holiday season in GTA Online. Look for details on that very soon,” Rockstar teased.
