Get a PlayStation 4, with DriveClub for free

According to a press release we received yesterday, you’ll be able to buy a PlayStation 4 for a cheaper price from today, though it’ll include a copy of Evolution Studio’s DriveClub as an added bonus.

Yes, for just R6299 you can get a brand new PS4, plus a copy of a pretty good racing game whose servers are very nearly functional. Yay?

Here’s the press release in full, because it’s early and I’m not up for picking apart its salient points before I’ve had my morning coffee.

Ster Kinekor Entertainment today announces yet another hot deal, this time for racing fanatics and petrol heads, hungry for the thrill of the race, when purchasing a PlayStation®4 console at participating retailers countrywide!

For a truly immersive driving experience, get to the heart and soul of car culture when you pick up a PlayStation®4 console for R6,299.99 PLUS your FREE copy of Driveclub! Starting today and for a limited time only, this offer will end on Sunday, 2nd November 2014, so don’t miss out!

To avoid disappointment, get down to a participating retailer to take advantage of this great racing offer, and experience the exhilaration of driving the most powerful and beautifully designed cars in the world!  Available while stocks last.

Bundle deals like this should be gearing up towards the holiday period, it’s just a pity that they’ve chosen to go with DriveClub. It’s a good game, no doubt – but it’s one that’s been plagued with two weeks of server issues since its launch. Still, if you’re in the market for a PS4, and want a racing game, it’s a pretty good deal.  For those who just want a new console and a racing game., and have no brand loyalty or allegiances, it’s worth noting that you can pick up an Xbox One with FIFA 15 and Forza 5 download tokens for exactly the same price.

It’s also worth noting that Kalahari has the PlayStation 4 for just R5599 today, but only until 2pm, and only while stocks last.

Um… So they can’t sell the game (coz it’s been on the broken side since launch), so now they resorting to giving it away?

Great price for the PS4 though, regardless of whether you get a free game or not (same price I paid a year ago).

I suppose Sony are positioning this kak bundle to compete with the Xbox Sunset Overdull bundle.

“Sunset Overdull” That’s just lazy writing….???? Why would you position a broken ass game to compete with a gem like SO? Even if Drivedud was R300 and they threw in a Peeees4 console I wouldn’t touch that shite! Nie eers met ‘n houtpiel oor ‘n plaas telefoon nie! ????

Nah I’d rather get a a higher priced bundle with a BETTER game. This game is too broken to even consider it a flop, and that’s saying a lot! For me this game is DOA.

DriveClub you dissapointed me so much….
