First look at Sony’s incredibly pretty “best kept secret”

EMAGON all the people

If you’re a PS4 owner and feel just a little bit disappointed by Sony’s first-party line-up this year, I don’t blame you. It hasn’t been dormant, but it’s also not been a massive success either. That’s expected in the console’s first year, and 2015 is already shaping up to be a lot better. In fact, it just got monumentally better after seeing EMAGON.

What the hell is EMAGON? Well aside from actually being “NO GAME” backwards, I can’t really tell you. What I can tell you is that the trailer below was thrown up by Playstation’s Spanish website, pointing towards a proper reveal this Friday at the Video Game Awards.

As far as I can tell, that looks like actual gameplay – which is blowing my mind in all sorts of directions. I also get a distinct Flower/ Journey type feeling from it all, which sits just fine with me considering just how incredible both of those games are. I just can’t tell what EMAGON really is, but I know I really want to see more of it.

It truly is a game that has come out of nowhere, and it has the potential to steal the show just like the equally confusing No Man’s Sky did last year. Could this be the first look at one of the PS4’s crowning titles, or is it travelling too far into the forest of experimentation for your liking?

            Wrong again my friend

            Fixed hardware – CONSOLE

            Upgrade-able – NOT A CONSOLE

“but will also allow users to create their own units from components and or modify retail products with off-the-shelf parts as desired.”

Does a console have to have fixed hardware? For me a console is a set of hardware in a box primary used for playing games with a controller on a tv. Even the wiki page says its a video game console.

Fascinating! Could this be what Keighley was referring to about one game that would potentially blow away the peeps?

Wow that looks absolutely amazing…As close to real life as I have seen yet. Just stop the video at 0:23 and tell me if you think that’s real or generated?

That’s just it isn’t it….the camera moves so much and the screen is filled when it focuses on something. It might be pictures and video filled with some extra graphics. The compass and glove kinda look like standard graphics while the rest looks more like it was simply captured and then pasted over with some fancy lights. – all my own opinion as seen from a very small screen.

“20 years…it’s a lot of time. Look around you and see everything that you have received (could also be “Look upon everything given to you”). A kingdom of infinite places. You have conquered this place, you have built and destroyed.

Look forward, for the light shall guide and care for you (not entirely sure here, guy’s accent is odd)

But this time, it’s different. This time, the myth is real.

For the first time your actions have real consequences. They need your help. Listen, you can hear them.

The power to change things is in your hands…”
