DAI leliana

No, these aren’t bloody agents like we’ve heard about on the news – agents are NPCs that you can recruit into the Inquisition, increasing its power and helping a specific leader from your War Table. They can help reduce the time for advisors to complete their missions, and are generally just awesome. As with all guides, contains spoilers.

Of course, finding and recruiting all the agents can be tricky, so here’s a listing for you. They each fall under the specific area where their perk will be used, except this first one as he just strengthens the Inquisition in general:

Horsemaster Dennet

  • Location: The Hinterlands
  • Associated Quest: Horses for the Inquisition
  • This NPC must be convinced by Cassandra Pentaghas or Vivienne and will join after the conversation. Alternatively, if you have the history perk or Dorian in your party, you can guilt him into joining vs an Orlesian horsemaster. His perk is a general inquisition perk and not for the advisors.

Forces Perks Agents

Clemence

  • Location: The Hinterlands
  • Associated Quest: In Hushed Whispers
  • Once you have met Alexius, go to Redcliffe’s Gull & Lantern tavern, speak to Clemence to find out he is willing to leave the rebel mages and join the Inquisition. The Perk granted reduces Cullen operations times by 5%

Corporal Vale

  • A series of quests in the Crossroads requires you to help refugees. Once completed, speak to Corporal Vale to receive one of three possible rewards as well as a perk. The options are: Corporal Vale becomes an Agent; Gold; Gain one power

Michel de Chevin

  • Location: Emprise du Lion
  • Associated Quest: Call Me Imshael
  • You must speak to Michel outside of the village and be sent to defeat Imshael at Suledin Keep, and he will join the Inquisition once you return. If you defeat Imshael before you speak to Michel, he won’t join the Inquisition.

Loranil

  • Location: The Exalted Plains
  • Associated Quest: By the Grace of the Dalish
  • You must earn favor with Keeper Hawen in the Dalish Camp, which requires you to complete all of the requests available in the camp. Loranil’s perk reduces Cullen’s operation times by 5%.

Lord Berand

  • Location: The Hinterlands
  • Associated Associated Quest: Love Waits
  • You must complete the Love Waits quest and return to Lord Berand. He must then be persuaded to join the inquisition as an active member or go home and use his influence to assist. His associated perk reduces the amount of time it takes Cullen or Josephine to complete an operation by 5%.

Ser Barris

  • Location: Therinfal Redoubt
  • Associated Quest: Champions of the Just
  • You must ally with the Templar side and complete the quest Champions of the Just for Ser Barris to become an agent. His associated perk reduces the time it takes to complete Cullen’s missions by 5%.

The Blades of Hessarian

  • Location: The Storm Coast
  • Associated Quest: Cleaning House
  • This agent requires that you have crafted and equipped the amulet Mercy’s Crest, then visit the bandit camp where you will have an opportunity to challenge and defeat their leader. If you are victorious you can speak to any bandit to have them join. Reduces by 5% the time it takes for Cullen to complete operations.

Connections Perks Agents

EA & Ubi’s business practises piss me off. So I decided to vote with my wallet & pick one to not support. I picked EA because Ubi at least releases smaller projects like Child of Light and not just bAAAysplotion nonsense. They’re also not on Steam any more & out of sight is out of mind.

I like that you are taking a stand but it does suck when a really great game like, DA:I, comes out.

I’m well aware this is a several says old post, but on the off chance you’ll see this–
Dragon Age Inquisition is the best game EA’s published since Dragon Age Origins. It’s one of the two best games they’ve ever published, in fact. (The other being Dragon Age Origins, obviously.) I’d suggest getting it to support Bioware, if not EA. Furthermore, the better it does, the more likely EA will allow Bioware to take their time and deliver a great game again in the future. We’ve seen the tragedy that occurs when they don’t have that kind of time and publisher support in Dragon Age 2.

I’m all for voting with your dollar, but it’s important to remember that there’s more than just everything from one company or nothing from one company. You can show them what they’re doing right (Dragon Age Inquisition) while still boycotting the things they do that suck–basically everything else they publish except MAYBE Mass Effect–similar to what you’ve decided about Ubisoft, where you’re showing support for the smaller releases that you favor.

If you punish someone for doing wrong, that’s fine, but if you punish them just the same when they do something right, they’ll never learn to do any better. It’s pointless to take a stand against what they’re doing wrong if you’re also taking a stand against things they do right.

All that said, I’m a huge Dragon Age fan and I hope this game is very successful as I’d hate to see Mass Effect get all the attention from EA in the future when it doesn’t deserve it nearly as much. In my opinion, at least.

Honestly I wonder sometimes. Dragon Age Origins was awesome did well and EA got greedy and rushed out Awakenings and DA2. Then that sucks and they take three years and give us DAI which still could have used six months getting patched up right. But still awesome. Like with Mass Effect 2. Totally awesome then Mass Effect three gets rushed and screws everything up. So now what do they do? Take forever in developing another ME game cause they know it has to impress. It seems the best course of action is to not tell anyone about the bad ass games so no one gets greedy and screws them up.

Best solution is to buy the game used. None of that money that you spent on the used game will go to EA.

never really found the agents worth it.
ive found a couple, but theyr not the kind of thing i look for, ihad power to spare at the end and had completed 90% of the war table quests by the end of the game and i started with the war table late.

You can also use Varric to recruit Tanner, this causes slight approval for Varric and slight disapproval for Cassandra. That is as opposed to the only listed path above which has the arguably better approval outcome of Cassandra approving and no one disapproving. Slight approval changes mean very little, so if both are in your party it’s probably best to go with Cass, but I wouldn’t bother bringing her with you just to make this recruitment.

A few notes: Ritts may also be recruited if the Inquisitor has the Underworld Knowledge perk, as stated already Varric can also be used to recruit Tanner but so can the History Knowledge perk, Jana (The Elf in Crestwood) can be recruited using Nobility Knowledge, and Florianne can also be recruited with the Nobility Knowledge perk.
