What’s the one game that would get your engine roaring? The one game that would make your jaded outlook on life a tad bit sunnier? For me, that would be a Ninja Theory developed sequel to DmC: Devil May Cry. For a lot of other people who aren’t chucking rocks at me right now, that would be a new Fallout. Fallout 3 was one of the defining games in the last generation of consoles and PC, a benchmark-setting triumph. A sequel will most likely be made one day, but it most likely won’t be titled Shadow Of Boston.
If you were charging your PIP-boy in anticipation of a return to the wastelands yesterday, then it most likely had something to do with a collection of gaming sites posting a flurry of stories related to a Bethesda trademark for Fallout: Shadow of Boston. NeoGAF broke the news first, which was then picked up and disseminated around the web.
But it’s all fake.
According to Bethesda, no such game exists in their department right now under that title, as they elaborated on Twitter:
The German trademark filing that’s making the rounds is a hoax. This didn’t come from our offices.

According to Kotaku, the rumour originated with a notorious spreader of such un-truths, one Jesse who regularly makes up such news in order to get a rise before disappearing and going dark. Thing is, I’m certain that right now there are plans for a Fallout 4 in the works. If a rumour can kick up this much of a storm on the net, then imagine what an actual official announcement could do?
I’d still put money down that we will get such an announcement next year. After all, it’s about time that we left the vault once again.

Devil May Cry, yeah I cried alright. The remake just doesn’t do it for me, same as with Scooby Doo. Now everyone is dating? Scooby Doo 90210? Stop remaking or rebooting everything!!!

All news Fallout related in the last few years has been a hoax… Eish! I just hope that they are working on Fallout 4, regardless of when it may make an appearance.
And whoa-betwix them if they turn it in “Fallout Online”, like they did with The Elder Scrolls!!! o_O
