The DGL has come a long way from its inception. It is the name in local competitive gaming and their registrations keep on breaking records. Now, they are offering some huge prizes thanks to some fantastic new sponsors.
First up, we have DOTA 2. ASUS has come on board, sponsoring over R110k in hardware prizes. Nicole Celliers, ASUS SA Marketing Manager, says they’re excited to be involved with the DGL for 2014, particularly for Dota 2:
We have been looking to sponsor a tournament for some time and after the 2013 results from the Telkom DGL, it was decided that 2014 will be the perfect time to join. Looking at Dota 2, we feel that it is increasing in popularity in South Africa and will continue to grow in popularity. This year is my first year in DGL for Hearthstone (later this year for winter league) but now I really wish I had a 5 man team for DOTA because those prizes are awesome!
