Depressing list of studios that have closed in this generation

Closed

When we think of gaming companies and studios we generally think of the big guys rolling around in a huge pile of cash and laughing at us poor suckers paying R150 every 2 months for DLC.

But that’s not the only side of the gaming industry, the other side are the actual end studio’s making some of the best games in this generation and still going bankrupt. Studio’s like Bizarre Creations (Geometry Wars and Blur) and Team Bondi (LA Noire)

Oh and how could I forget about Midway Newcastle who worked on the incredibly epic Mortal Kombat title last year…

Well thanks to a dedicated forumite at NeoGaf we now have an obituary list for all the studio’s that closed in the last 5 years.. it’s a bit depressing so you may want to look away now.

So the next time you pirate a game like Mortal Kombat or Blur remember it’s not generally the publisher that you hate so much that gets hurt. It’s the poor sods at the bottoms working 20 hour shifts to entertain you.

If you could save only one of these studio’s which one would it be? Personally I’d have saved Team Bondi and fired their CEO. That company deserved better for making LA Noire.
