Cyberpunk 2077 will ‘probably’ come to Xbox One and PS4

Out of all the studios making games right now, I have a soft spot in my heart for the chaps at CD Projekt RED. They’ve proven that smaller teams and budgets can make great games, and they’re also just so damn nice in real life. That team has been expanded though, for The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. And they’re tinkering with some next-gen ideas.

Speaking to Polygon, CDP Business Development Manager Rafal Jaki explained that 210 staffers were currently working on the two games. Red Team, the larger of the two had a hundred guys toiling away on The Witcher 3, while Black Team worked on Cyberpunk 2077.

And between them, the smallest mystery team was working on the nuts and bolts of those games, the graphical engine that powers the duo. According to Jaks, progress is going “really, really well” so far.

“I don’t want to brag or anything, but really the stuff they’ve come up with is mind-blowing,” said Jaki, explaining that while Cyberpunk would arrive on PC, it “most probably will” also come to next-gen consoles.

But we can’t confirm or deny because it’s too early for that.

Don’t expect Cyberpunk 2077 to arrive before 2015 at the earliest, as CDP is taking their time with that game. As for The Witcher 3, I can easily say that it may be the most beautiful game that CDP has ever made after I saw it in action at E3, and I’m going to dig an opportunity to play that on a next-gen console.

But seeing how big a Deus Ex fan I am, as well its supporting genre lore and all that? I’d sell my right arm for an Xbox One/Playstation 4 version.

  1. If it’s even half as good as the currently released Witcher games, I’m there like a bear.

Hope it comes to the Bone & PS4 too – you deserve some good RPGs.

These guys put so much work into their games, witcher 2 looks and plays great but the lore of the first 2 games is amazing, learning about the world and its inhabitants, im a massive fan.

Out of all the time I spent jamming Witcher 2, I spent about a fifth of that time just reading up on the ingame lore.

Only other game that had me immersed like that was the Mass Effect series

All this talk of The Witcher is driving me mad. On a related note, Telkom just msg’d met to say they will come ‘install’ on Thursday. Apparently they couldn’t call me because there was no answer. No missed call though…

Bit off topic, but I think the next FFD must be “Jodie vs Ellie, which one did you like best?” Um, sorry for the Xbox guys.
