The Do Gaming League Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Cup quarter finals took place last week, immediately seeing Bravado (bvd) and Super Serial Gamers [SSG] jumping into the semi’s this weekend after their victories. Bravado then successfully secured their spot in the finals.

The Ready.Set.GO! Quarter finals took place from 15 to 18 November seeing [SSG] Amandla and bvd.Counterstrike:GO dominating. [SSG] Amandla took their game opponents dLegacy-CS:GO 2 for 0, winning 16 – 4 on Inferno and 16 – 8 on Mirage. Bvd.Counterstrike:GO won their match 2 – 0 against entity. In the other two quarter final matches [xTc]CSGO beat def:CS:GO 2 – 1 and –c7e/csgo won their match with a 2 – 0 against FiM ‘ Force.

The semi’s were set to kick off yesterday, [SSG] Amandla and bvd.Counterstrike:GO decided to go head to head straight away. Both teams have shown great dedication and skill throughout the entire cup which made for some very close and intense games. After [SSG] Amandla showed great sportsmanship by agreeing to postpone the match twice, the game finally got underway. bvd.Counterstrike:GO managed to snatch away the win on the first map, Inferno with a 16 – 13 victory as well as on the second map, Dust2 with a score of 16 – 11.

Bravado will be eagerly awaiting the finals which will take place from 22 – 25 November; their opponent is yet to be decided in the semi final taking place within the next two days. This game between [xTc]CSGO and –c7e/csgo will be the decider of who goes through to the winners bracket in the finals. The loser will face off against [SSG] Amandla in the losers bracket for third and fourth place.

So far things have gone just about exactly according to a community prediction by Alistair ‘Lag_Beast’ Bowman, local Counter-Strike vet.

His predictions:

Actual results:

  • [xTc]CSGO beat def:CS:GO
  • –c7e/csgo beat FiM ‘ Force
  • [SSG] Amandla beat dLegacy-CS:GO
  • bvd.Counterstrike:GO beat entity

Will –c7e/csgo go through to the finals against Bravado? Will Bravado be the ultimate victors? Only time will tell.
