Borderlands-Remastered

Man, look at all these remastered games coming out. Cheap! Quick cash-grabs! Bah! Flimshaw! Petroleum distillate! You won’t catch me being suckered into buying one of those games. Nope, no way Jose and one more thing…Is that a Borderlands Remastered Edition I spot out in the wild? I’ll uh, I’ll be right back…

A Borderlands listing for “multiple platforms” has been spotted on the Australian Classification Board, according to PlayerAttack, with an age-appropriate rating of MA15+. Classified yesterday, the “Borderlands Remastered Edition” listing was handed in by Gearbox and 2K Australia. Here, have a looksie:

Listing

By multiple platforms, I’d easily imagine PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. And PC. Don’t worry guys, I haven’t forgotten about you. No further information is present at this time however. I’d love to see Borderlands on new consoles, because I’m an absolute sucker for those games. But if this listing is only for the first game in the series, I’m genuinely not interested.

I’ve played through the old-gen versions multiple times. I fought the cosmic vagina at the end of that game. I battled in Mad Moxxi’s Underdome, defeated General Knoxx, braved the terrors of the mad Doctor Ned and finally murdered Claptrap. Good times, but I’m done with those missions.

Throw in Borderlands 2 and the Pre-sequel however, and I might change my tune. I’m of the firm belief that a Remaster needs to go all out. It needs to add as much content as possible. That’s why recent Remasters such as GTA V, Sleeping Dogs and Tomb Raider have been highlights of the year for me.

A Borderlands remastered edition that packs in the first game, the sequel and the Pre-sequel with all of the expansive DLC and some new-gen sheen on those cel-shaded graphics, I’d happily snap up. Especially since the previous Borderlands game has been spotted elsewhere.

Here’s the thing though, I still won’t buy it. Because not all the DLC is released yet. Phone me when the GOTY remastered super shiny R2Dclaptrap PS4 edition is ready.

Are you MAD? Don’t you know that, similar to Beetlejuice, saying Brenda 3 times summons a mankini-clad monster? HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU SAID IT NOW?!

How about they remaster some older games instead. Black & White, Dungeon Keeper (properly), Kotor 1 & 2. Oh right, those actually require a lot more work then just a spit and shine

I agree 100% – throw in at least Borderlands 1 and 2 together with all DLC and maybe. Pre-Sequel as well – definitely.

But seeing as yours truly is playing 1 and 2 as we speak, one on 360 and one on PS3, I ain’t playing 1 again by itself on PS4 UNLESS its like R100 download…

unless the port it over to Unreal 4, there’s no reason at all for a PC “remastered” version…

Yeah must say that “remastered” for PC doesn’t quite make sense as my understanding, being console gamer and all, was that PC versions were definitive.

Suppose argument is that it was what 5/6 years ago?
