Behind the scenes on the biggest LAN party happening this weekend

Lan1

You think your LAN party is big? Wait until you the size of mine! While the majority of us will be doing…stuff, this weekend, over in Sweden, the mother of all LAN parties in on the cards. The Jonkoping based Dreamhack Winter party is promising a festival wherein 10 000 gamers can join together for one massive network of gaming over the next couple of days, and of course, they’ve got some serious hardware to back that claim up.

The Elmia Fair is pretty much a celebration of PC Gaming, and the gear that the crew on that side has put up for some impromptu games of DOTA and CounterStrike, is massive. Kilometres of cable. Enough aluminium from empty energy drink cans to craft Iron Man armour. And more bits than you can shake an entire Telkom infrastructure at.

Damn, that’s one party that I’d dig to crash. For more details on the festival itself, check out the official page.
