ArkhamAchievement

The next great big AAA blockbuster that’s coming – now that The Witcher 3 is out – is Batman: Arkham Knight. The final tale in Rocksteady’s series of games about the dark protector of Gotham throws in a bigger city, the Batmobile, and pretty much everything from the first games, with more stuff thrown in. It’s out later this month, set for worldwide release on June 23. Here, three weeks ahead of the game’s release, are its achievements.

They come courtesy of TrueAchievements so they’re legit, and also show that at least one person already has the game. As with all things of this ilk, the Achievements are likely to reveal a spoiler or two, so if you plan on heading in with a virgin experience, this is something you might want to avoid.

It’s not a problem for me though, as I have no intention of playing the game until later this year, when I pick up the game’s inevitable Game of the Year edition, bundling up all of the pre-order DLC, time trials and everything else that’ll be added to the game post-release. It’s a dirty DLC tactic that Warner’s become especially bad with, so this time, I’ll be waiting. I am a bit sad that I’ve missed out on that Batmobile edition though.

Here are those achievements. Remember: SPOILERS

There is a way to do them faster? You mean skipping the dialogues right? Even so, I don’t think I’ll be able to finish before then….

Yeah, I think he’s being optimistic.

I haven’t even skipped or rushed a single dialogue yet, they’re just too damn good.

Exactly! I’m currently trying to do as many of the treasure hunts as possible, needless to say I now have manuscripts for superior armour and swords, but I’m probably 10 levels below them… and inventory management is becoming a bit of an issue….

I’m only lvl 8, I’m still strategically retreating from tons of enemies.

Yea man. I’m 15 now and when there are only two question marks where it indicates the monster’s level I don’t even attempt it. You have to pick your fights in The Witcher 3. I love that.

I ran up to a question mark on Sat. From a distance it looked like a Griffin, and I was like “Yeah, I’ve taken one of those. Let’s do this!” Then when I got closer it was a lvl 18 Wyvern and I went “NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPERUNAWAYRUNAWAY”

Haha. Found a wyvern nest last night myself. Died the moment I realised what they were. Didn’t bother going back even. Make a mental note and move on. 🙂

I tried my luck with a lvl 18 swamp hag, just to see what would happen. Hit for 100 points damage & her health bar barely moved. Then she hit me & I had to reload.

            Haha.
Slice – see what damage it does
            1) if you’ve hurt it, slice again
            2) if you haven’t damaged it, duck, roll and run.

I’ll take on humans that have a few levels on me, but when it comes to monsters I’m very wary. It’s easy to get stun-locked by a bunch of monsters.

          • Greylingad[CNFRMD]

            June 1, 2015 at 09:22

Yep! The key ingredient to it, is to be smart in picking your battles… humans around three levels above your own can be offed rather easily, it’s a completely different story when it’s a monster though…

            June 1, 2015 at 09:25

Got stuck between two guys with shields. Hate those bastards more than any monster imo.

            June 1, 2015 at 09:17

Hehe, I discovered that nest in the early hours of this morning, between a haze of slashes, jabs, swings and a lot of Yrden, I managed to off two Wyverns, feeling proud of myself, I smiled and tried to save, only to be met with a message “you can’t save at this point” exited the menu… A few moments it was made clear why…

            June 1, 2015 at 09:12

I’ve just struck lvl 20 and it just keeps getting better, once you revisit some of those daunting monsters, there’s this slight touch of achievement attached to it…

            June 1, 2015 at 09:15

I know man. The feeling of achievement in the game is really great. Especially when you finally get through to an area you were previously disallowed from, just by doing quests.

          • Greylingad[CNFRMD]

            June 1, 2015 at 09:21

I haven’t played a game this good, ever, simply put, nothing comes close to TW3, the sense of feeling lost in the game happens so quickly, the fact that one simple side quest, which involves some poor fellows wife can keep you busy for hours as it unfolds… Truly captivating, beyond any comparison….

          • Captain JJ the_scarrrr

            June 1, 2015 at 09:24

It’s very quickly made it’s way to the top of my list as well.

Loved that quest. Seriously. Nice touch with the (POTENTIAL SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T DONE IT YET) lamp. ;P

            June 1, 2015 at 09:28

The quest was good fun, and the Lamp was a nice addition.

            June 1, 2015 at 09:28

Yes!! I loved that mission!! It was brilliant! Trying to avoid a spoiler, the end of that quest was simply amazing… And it’s that detail that makes it so good, as if every single quest was hand crafted, whether to pick at an emotion, or to blast you away and leave you breathless…

I’m fairly sure I’ve made a decision that will lead to Kiera doing something silly down the line. I’ll feel bad if it does go wrong, because I liked her.

            June 1, 2015 at 09:40

Oh I see which way you took. I suggested something else in the end. Though not with any intentions behind it other than to keep her safe.

          • Blood Emperor Trevor

            June 1, 2015 at 09:42

I suggested she go there too, she agreed, but… I didn’t try to take the stuff away from her.

          • Captain JJ the_scarrrr

            June 1, 2015 at 09:45

Oh, I see. I did take the stuff, but sometimes I actually make these decisions not because I thought it’s the right thing to do, just because I think it might lead me somewhere else. I love that about it. You can never expect what will happen until you make that decision

          • Greylingad[CNFRMD]

            June 1, 2015 at 09:42

It’s that grey area that I love, usually things are quite predictable, not here though…I had a quest last night of a boy that was cursed, the father was distraught, I investigated and found a jealous trader had put down the curse… Moral dilemma… Brilliantly executed…

          • Greylingad[CNFRMD]

            June 1, 2015 at 09:11

Hahaha!! Don’t worry, there is no shame in turning around and running, while leaving little deposits behind you….

Same here. Not fast traveling has also made the game stretch out lekker.

Gee wizz! You’re not fast travelling? Wow! Just, Wow man! I’m using it a little extensively, but you have to stop and stare every moment or so, the game is just sublime….

            June 1, 2015 at 09:07

No. I never fast travel. Didn’t in Skyrim either. It’s against my beliefs 😉
I like to immerse myself into a game completely, so I’m trying to really live myself into it.

I’m not fast travelling much either. First time I head out somewhere new I prefer taking a nice relaxing walk. I don’t even ride Roach half the time.

          • Captain JJ the_scarrrr

            June 1, 2015 at 09:12

Yea. I only ride Roach when it’s over 1000ft away. I like taking a boat though, that’s quite a bit of fun.

I’m cautiously amped up for this game, but will probably still be playing the Witcher 3 for a few months, so won’t be getting it on release.
