The Division, Rainbow Six coming this year

Ubisoft didn’t exactly have the best last year critically. Unity was a bit of a bust, The Crew failed to impress and Watch_dogs squandered a lot of potential to be something truly different. The AAA market was not a good hunting ground for the developer/publisher, but that’s not deterring them. This year Ubisoft is determined to get it right – and they’ve got five massive titles lined up to prove it.

During an end of fiscal year earnings call last night, Ubisoft confirmed that they have five AAA titles set to launch over their next fiscal calendar, which ends in March next year. Right now out of the five we know of three titles, namely The Division, Rainbow Six: Siege and a brand new Assassin’s Creed, all of which are expected to launch this year at the very least. As for the other two – well they’re a bit of a mystery.

I think we can safely rule out a Watch_Dogs sequel though. Don’t be mistaken, Ubisoft are definitely working on one, but I doubt it’ll arrive sometime during the next twelve months. It would also be ignorant to think that one of those two titles won’t be another entry into the Just Dance franchise, which has been a rather successful one over the years. The last title is anyone’s guess though. Could it finally be Beyond Good and Evil 2? Perhaps a return to Prince of Persia? Hell, maybe even a new IP altogether.

I’ll put money on us all only finding that out at E3, when Ubisoft takes to the stage to properly outline their plans for the rest of the year. I’m praying for the surprise announcement of Beyond Good and Evil, but as Zoe so eloquently put it the other day, it has become Ubisoft’s own Last Guardian. Any guess on what they’re hiding?

I’m mostly excited about Rainbow Six: Siege. I sincerely hope it will become a CS:GO killer, on all levels, including top eSports tournaments.

Or am I delusional and nothing will beat the Valve machine?

Very much so. You should see the amount of teams in the DGL

It’s actually become very large (again) in the last two years or so. Definitely the Valve machine hyping up the game.

If they were a game they’d be Ride to Hell 2 – Ride Harder while Blindfolded.

If it’s a great game I’ll get it. Not bothered by who publishes them. But then again what did Ubisoft publish last year that was great? Really hoping that The Division turns out to be great

Yeah man, the whole premise of The Division seems awesome, and on paper it sounds epic. BUT, only time will tell

One enters the “animalmus version micro transaction/monthly sub 5.4” in AC 7.3 and boom you are in Hello Kitty Island Adventures, killing coconuts with hidden blades designed by the love child of Da Vinci and Nic Tesla, while jumping over plants and wall running waterfalls!

Rainbow 6 looks dull yet addictive____maybe. The Division looks great but considering the online component it might be sucky for us. DOOM.
