Oh look, it's Garth on the left.

Proving that you can sell the same thing multiple times, it looks like Rovio is taking their iconic birds with anger management issues to space. Er, again. Only this time, the action will be taking place in a galaxy far, far away…

According to a force sensitive MCV, Rovio and Lucasfilm will combine their two properties for a licensed, fully armed and operational tie fighter-in. Currently set for a November 8 release, Angry Birds Star Wars will hit iOS and Android devices, with the cast of birds donning the familiar looks of Star Wars characters such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo. Using the same gameplay ideas from Angry Birds Space, the game will feature worlds such as Tatooine and Hoth for you to fling the temperamental birds at.

And of course, this will all lead to the plush side of the Force, as merchandise will follow shortly afterwards. “They are not Angry Birds dressed up as Star Wars characters,” Lucasfilm’s president of licensing and consumer products marketing Paul Southern stated. “They are characters in their own right”, she said, presumably while a legion of Star Wars fans from 501st Battalion started playing Russian Roulette (Citation needed).

Meanwhile at Rovio, everything is proceeding exactly as they have foreseen…
