It’s a sight the really cheers me up, watching filthy pirates moaning and complaining that the evil Microsoft has once again decided enough is enough and have started turfing them all of Live.
Reports started popping up everywhere last night that people were either receiving console bans (where the console can never go on Live again) or they were getting account bans (where their gamertag can never go on Live again).
Apparently these morons were surprised that there stealth hacks had been picked up by Microsoft and are now scrambling around to try and resolve this issue by actually phoning Microsoft and pretending that they aren’t pirates.
If you are a regular visitor you will know how much we hate pirates here at Lazygamer and anything that can be done to stop this scourge will always be well received here.
If you are ever tempted by someone to hack your console just remember that no hack is ever going to stay hidden from Microsoft for long if you are going on Live and you will end up being banned, or even worse they may decide to make an example out of you and seeing that piracy is a criminal act you could even find yourself on the wrong end of Bubba…
Source not listed as they are advocating piracy.

Well i read stealthing your console can lower your chance of being caught by lets say 50%+/-. Some one described it as a speed trap. If you ride down a road at 120 Km/h on a 80Km/h zone the odds are 50/50 that you’ll get fined for your actions same apply here. Some people play pirate games for weeks … maybe months.. without being caught. But sometimes MS smiles down on us and kicks those pirate douchebags right where it hurts

I think MS should display their gamertags after banning them just to set an example. I hope most of them have like +20 000 gamerpoint which they cant brag over anymore hehehe

No, they will still allow the users to access live, they only ban the console that was modded so it can not play on live any more. Reason why they cannot “brick” console is that
they can’t – because you have bought it, so the modded console can still play games but will loose out on live connectivity.

O noes, I have to wait a whole week until I can get another firmware hack that will only be picked up by MS in a years time and result in me not paying R600+ for every game from now until then. Doesnt it suck to be a pirate….

See, now this just makes me sour! I implore Microsoft for banning pirates who “steal from them”, but is it not messed up that Microsoft has “stolen from us” by not giving us our Gears codes and there is nothing we can do about it. We can’t ban Microsoft now, can we?

Perhaps it doesn’t suck to be a pirate, but it sucks to be a thief. You are no better than anyone breaking into your house and stealing everything. So I hope you don’t complain about crime in this country, because you are part of it.

It does when you post about it on a public website which logs IP addresses 😈
Also remember you are going to need a new console next week as well so that’s R1700 + whatever the hack costs… and don’t expect to make it past christmas…
There is no justification for theft,

Well we start by not over reacting. Nick is doing good with Epic and MS. It’s also not an isolated incident, Fable 2 had code issues as well and Microsoft addressed that quite amicably.
If they say no, then you can rant and rave all you want.

i want to back up my games and i know the law states you are allowed ONE copy per game/audio cd/dvd which ever comes first. Now does that mean im a pirate too if i wanna do this in the future then?

all do respect ou not everybody in SA has Xbox live on another server and i think EPIC only gave the codes to countries who obviously have live. So we were screwed from the start.
Well 75 000 consoles strong i guess they thought little old 3rd country South Africa’s never gonna get live lets ent those copies to europe instead

i dont get it why not ban the gamertag aswel? probably because they pay for the downloadable content afterwards even if the game is pirated….

Except that I havn’t been on Live since the ban hammer was dropped. All I need to do is wait a week or less until a new hacked firmware is released and just dl that.

You don’t seek to understand how it works?
Microsoft hasn’t only just bypassed that hack now, they have bypassed it weeks or even months ago. Then they sit back and build up a list of pirates. Then they ban. If you are on the list you can stay of live for months and you will still be banned when you go online

I don’ t know of any such law

Yet I can still log into XBL on my PC fine. Trust me,I have been thru this b4 when they banned people when Halo 3 came out. I know how it works.

😐 you will get banned one day. That’s life.
They don’t always catch everyone and sometimes I think they leave known pirates alone so that they can monitor what other garbage gets installed.
Microsoft ain’t stupid 😉

I read that when you play a game its files get saved to your hdd and a pirated game is encrypted/a bit diffrent or something like that and even if your not logged into live you can get bnned, something of microsoft being able to access your files and see for suspicious activities

okay dont laugh but i got this of bid or buy and they must bid by the laws of South Africa and this is what they say
“Q:..Is copying DVDs legal?
A:Copy DVDs is legal if you only copy the DVDs that you
personally own and do not distribute your copied DVDs to a
third party.”
What is your opinion on this
