I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that your matte black or – gasp! White, you peasant! – Xbox 360 controller just. isn’t. shiny. enough. Ok, most of you probably weren’t – but for the handful of you that want more bling in your hands, Microsoft has you covered.
The company’s announced a series of shiny new chromed out controllers for those who like to accessorise.
Available in Blue, Red and Silver the shiny new controllers feature the infinitely better, transforming d-pad that debuted in 2010, which we reviewed, rather hilariously, here.
According to Major Nelson, the new controllers will come in at a $5 premium over the cost of the regular, boring controller – so expect it to be available for around R600. For those of you paying attention – these aren’t the only shiny Xbox controllers available – but if you want the gold, C3PO styled one you’ll have to fork out for the admittedly sexy limited Star Wars edition of the Xbox – or try your hand at winning one, by flexing your poetic muscles.
I personally prefer my tech to be matte – but I know a lot of folks dig shiny stuff.
Would you buy one of these controllers?
