WWE 2K17 cover star Brock Lesnar won’t be suspended over his failed drug test

Brock Lesnar

It has not been a good week for Brock Lesnar. The beast incarnate might have picked up a win at the last big UFC event, but said win was allegedly earned with the help of some performance-enhancing drugs. According to failed drug tests at least, which Lesnar flunked a pair of. That has left the beast incarnate in hot water with the Ultimate Fighting Championship organisation as he prepares for a suspension from the octagon.

But as for his work in WWE? Hey, everything is good to go! Hell, this whole drugs incident will probably even be leveraged into whatever storyline he finds himself tangled in with Randy Orton at Summerslam. According to the WWE, Lesnar only works as a part-time performer for the company and is thus magically exempt from the company’s rules which harshly discipline anyone on the roster for enhancing their performance. Roman Reigns must be livid right about now.

“WWE’s talent wellness program does not apply to part-time performers,” a WWE Spokesperson said to CBS Sports. That also means that Lesnar’s starring role in WWE 2K17 is most likely safe as well, as he’ll still be the cover star of that game which is heavily promoting a tour of Suplex City and a trip down memory lane through all of Lesnar’s greatest matches. Except probably that Wrestlemania 19 match against that guy who works at TNA and whose name rhymes with Burt Dangle.

Hell, the whole incident is already being worked into the Randy Orton feud for Summerslam, as Orton told Chris Jericho at Battleground that , “it only takes one RKO to get to Viperville.”

No enhancement required.

The irony of that comment, is simply delicious. WWE 2K17 is out in October, and its first wrasslers have already been revealed: The McMahon family. NO CHANCE, THAT’S WHAT YOU GOT!

  1. I was just going to say “but WWE is all acting anyway, what’s the difference with performance enhancing drugs? Isn’t that what alcohol did for Johnny Depp?”.

But then UFC, so it’s k.

The one I feel sorry for in the failed drug test is Brock’s opponent from UFC200, Mark Hunt. The poor guy got Brock-handled. Wasn’t a pretty fight. Yet Brock still got $2.5 mil. Scary.

I was initially inclined to agree and back his claim but Hunt has been on an absolute rant in MMA media with complete disregard for everyone involved in the sport. Although initially amusing, I quickly found myself unsympathetic for a guy who can’t complete a sentence without dropping the f-bomb in every possible configuration and his “white monkey” comment… imagine the uproar if Lesnar called him a monkey?
He’s probably already lost his contract with the UFC as he has verbally abused them to that point. He also doesn’t seem to mind the kid in the background while cursing the whole industry via telecom on live interviews.

Hunt has been wronged, no argument but he needs to conduct himself professionally if he intends to be taken seriously.

Yeah, I do agree that Hunt should be more professional with his comments.

But that being said, looking at his history in the recent years with the UFC, how many fights has he taken against opponents who were doping? It keeps happening to him and the UFC keeps on allowing it to happen. No wonder the guy is so pissed off, I would be to.

Think of Michael Bisping, he’s lost to Vitor, Wanderlei and Chael who are all proven cheats and he’s never gone crazy like Hunt has.

Anyway, the sport is getting cleaned up last but only in the UFC so far. Bellator and the rest are all using antiquated testing policies.

Haha, I hear that. Can’t believe Rockhold messed that one up.

Not sure what was worse: Bisping winning the title or his terrible attitude toward Rockhold after he just won the fight.

But Rockhold went into the fight completely underestimated Bisping. You could see it while watching and he himself admitted it.

But now, this weekend, really hope Robbie puts some hurting onto Woodley!

Lawler is a beast! Only way Woodley wins is if he can put Robbie away early. Otherwise he’s in for a hurting.

            Yeah, I really like Lawlor.

But he did not win that fight against Condit. No freakin way did he win that fight. Carlos got robbed. I was so bummed when I heard Bruce say “aaaaand STILLL”. My heart fell into my shoes.
As you can tell by my profile pic, I’m a HUGE Condit fan. And he was SOOOO close to winning the title against GSP!

Condit is a killer in the cage and he has had his run of bad luck. He’s started talking retirement which is worrying for any fighter.

He’s not just a killer, he’s a natural born killer.

So hope he doesn’t retire soon. You could see after his Lawlor loss just how despondent he was. He was probably thinking “What else do I have to do to win the title?!?!”

But I do hear what you saying about Hunt. Not the smartest thing to do to keep badmouthing everyone and swearing like that.

guys do you really believe that the WWE enforces their “drug rules”? haha its part of the show and a necessity to keep in positive light with the kids. trust me any athlete banned form WWE for drugs is either taking a sabbatical or going on a vacay. its all part of the show.

The WWE’s testing policy is a joke and they’ve just proven it. More wrestlers have died “before their time” due to heart complications than in any other “sport” with the possible exception of bodybuilding.
