GLOWING

Ahh, review embargoes are a fun thing, especially when publications get the dates and times wrong and have to pull their reviews after they’ve gone live. Such a thing happened to Empire Magazine’s online portal after they published the world’s first review of Naughty Dog’s “The Last of Us” – but the internet never forgets.

The review – which awarded the game a full 5 stars – might be missing, but its been captured for the world to see. And according to Empire, it could well be the best game released on consoles within the last 6 years.

“It’s an “easy contender for the best game of this console generation”, they said, adding, “The Last of Us is not just the finest game that Naughty Dog has yet crafted and an easy contender for the best game of this console generation, it may also prove to be gaming’s Citizen Kane moment, a masterpiece that will be looked back upon favourably for decades.”\

That’s some mighty praise – but it’s probably worth mentioning that empire is general media publication – and not exactly a “go-to” place for deep video game analysis. Still, that’s one heck of a glowing review.

Also, the internet is still awash with some pretty nasty The Last of Us Spoilers  – so you might want to avoid reading too much about the game before it’s released next month.
