Kevin Butler apologises to Sony for playing with his Wii

This smiled is faked

The Kevin Butler adverts were without a doubt the best video game adverts ever to grace the Internet and I still strongly believe they are also one of the reasons Sony was able to claw back from near death to end the generation strongly.

So I can’t say it’s nice to see that Sony and Kevin (Jerry Lambert) were in court recently over the advert Jerry Lambert did for Bridgestone; the one where he was seen to be playing a Nintendo Wii console.

Sony took offense to this and pulled them both into court.

Today Sony has won the first part of the court case with Kevin Butler accepting that he was wrong and could have confused buyers. He has also promised to not do anything related to videogames for the next two years and then when that time is passed if he wants to work with a videogame advert he needs to provide Sony with all the information about the advert so that they can decide whether it is acceptable or not.

All in all Kevin has become the VP of Corporate Disappointment.

Bridgestone for their part are still fighting this in court and unlike Jerry they have a serious law budget. It would be better for both of them just to call it quits now and go their separate ways.
