CVG have posted up a feature of their latest outing with Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 and it has made me even more excited for a game that I have overly high hopes for. But this time my hopes haven’t been raised due to great gameplay or graphics but rather the actual story which sounds fantastic.
In CVG’s own words Far Cry 3 could turn out to be Ubisoft’s Bioshock which is high praise indeed as the writing and story telling behind Bioshock is some of the best I’ve ever experienced and if Far Cry 3 has anything like the emotional attachment of Bioshock combined with the smooth gameplay of Call of Duty we could be in for something exceptional.
The article goes on to discuss how each citizen of the islands represents an extreme element of society and that the game has a very Fight Club feel to it where as you progress you start to lose the ability to distinguish between the bad guys and yourself which leads to a lot of moral questioning.
Braid managed to pull of a similar feat and was roundly praised for it so I am truly hoping the writing in Far Cry 3 is going to be solid and that this is going to be one of those titles that becomes a must play for any true gamer.
