Capcom’s actually done a pretty good job of re-releasing its old fighting games. Sure, you could easily accuse them of milking the fighting game resurrection to death, but they’ve actually put some decent effort in to them. Super Street Fighter 2 got a whole new HD makeover, Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike got online play and more recent collections like Marvel Origins and the frankly excellent Darkstalkers Resurrection add new modes and features to old games. If you were hoping (as I’ve been) for a Street Fighter Alpha collection, I’m afraid it’s probably just not happening.
“New development in the form of updated versions of SF2, SF3, MvC2, MvC1, Marvel Super Heroes, Darkstalkers, Puzzle Fighter etc.Sadly, I think we’ve probably run the course of feasible titles here given the droppoff we’ve seen in sales with each new introduction,” said Capcom’s Christian Svensson, on the company’s re-released fighters.
“It seems the novelty of such projects is wearing off even within just the fighting game community based upon the sales data of our last two launches. That said, we have been quite prolific in these areas (despite the assertion above that we haven’t) and it’s probably time for us to slow down anyway.”
So no, you probably won’t be getting Street Fighter Alpha, Power Stone or Rival Schools on HD any time soon. Which might be a good thing, because you’ll also not be getting costume DLC for those games.

This, I agree with. A new Breath of Fire would bring joy to my cynical, crusty gamer heart…

I can’t fault Capcom on the fighting game scene, they’ve actually done a solid job besides all the DLC fiascos

What I would LOVE from capcom
1. Onimusha HD collection
2. New Breath of Fire
3. A dragon Dogma Sequel with a coherent story
4. A new Dino Crisis in the old Fashion
5. New Chaos Legion
6. A new Viewtiful Joe and Okami (Doubt it will happen with Kamiya’s departure)
7. A new God Hand, Maximo, and Shadow of Rome game
Yes …. I’m a fan of Capcom

With all their recent DLC shenanigans, you kind of forget that they were a force to be reckoned with. Breath of Fire III and V (awesome games), Onimusha (one of gaming’s greats, yet sadly ignored now), Dragon Dogma (one of my favourites of last year), and Dino Crisis (man oh man did I love Dino Crisis).

I totally agree. they were one of the few Japanese Companies pushing out amazing games, If I look at square or even konami, Capcom was consistent in delivering Great games back in the day. I just wish they would get some ethics back.
Samanousuke needs a comeback!!!

I just really wish they would go ahead and re-release titles like Onimusha and the Power Stone series and make them into HD collections and release them on Live/PSN
