THE REIGN OF THE CORPSE-EMPEROR SHALL END! ABADDON THE DESPOILER SHALL LEAD THE FORCES OF CHAOS ON A GLORIOUS BLACK CRUSADE TO VICTORY! FOR THE DARK GODS! If you’ve rolled a 20 on your alignment, then you know what I’m talking about. Warhammer games at their best involve scores of disposable troops, vehicles and enough blood to create an ocean of crimson, but not every great battle is land-locked.

Battlefleet Gothic Armada takes the war into space next month, pitting mobile cathedrals up against planet-killing capital ships and ideologies armed to the teeth with lasers. it looks rather pretty as well, as you blast Space Marines in the cold, dark vacuum of space. Wondering if your PC can support the golden throne of Warhammer space combat games? Well here’s what you’ll need to run it:

Minimum settings:

  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • Processor: AMD FX-4100 X4 (3,6 GHz)/Intel Core i5-2500 (3,3 GHz)
  • Memory: 4096 MB RAM
  • Graphics: 1 GB, DirectX 11, AMD Radeon HD 6850/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 10 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible

Recommended settings:

battlefleet_gothic_armada-06

  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • Processor: AMD FX-8350 X8 (4,0 GHz)/Intel Core i7-3770 (3,9 GHz)
  • Memory: 8192 MB RAM
  • Graphics: 2 GB, DirectX 11, AMD Radeon R9 270X/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 10 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible

Not a lot of hard drive space needed for this game then, but some grunt needed to blow a cosmic-church into smithereens in Battlefleet Gothic Armada. That’s a meaty CPU required, and much higher than the requirements of the upcoming Total War: Warhammer as well. Graphically moderate, CPU-ily high as Geoff’s valued opinion described it to me while I wondered why the purple crayon didn’t taste like grape.

  1. Having fun with the Beta. There are some issues, like the game crashing with a “video driver crash and reset” issue. Only build 0.6something though. For the EMPEROR!

      Is it an open beta?

The Beta is open to all who pre-ordered the game. Plus you get the Space Marine fleet as soon as it is complete and available for free if you pre-order or buy within 2 months of release. I do not like pre-order bonus DLC really, but making it free for everyone who buys within two months is a step in the right direction. There are some issues with the Beta version, but I am enjoying it none the less.
