eSports Wrap-up: PandaTank updates, LoL training and CS: GO results
eSports highlights this week include Robert ‘PandaTank’ Botha’s ESWC results and a video interview, MWEB’s League of Legends training program, the MSSA’s proposed calendar for 2013 and the Ready.Set.GO cup group stages closes. Annnd exhale!
So impressively there’s still lots going on in eSports this close to year end, let’s have a look-see at what’s been going down.
PandaTank at the ESWC
Last week we posted that our favourite panda had taken to Paris to compete at the ESWC (StarCraft 2 tournament) and are more than pleased to report that he’s been kicking ass and taking names.
After breaking into the top 16 in the group stages, Robert ‘PandaTank’ Botha beat German player, Fabian ‘Hanfy’ Kattner 2 – 0 and advanced to the top 8. Top 8. He then faced off against Ilyes ‘Stephano’ Satouri (the StarCraft 2 guy that was criticized and punished for apparently saying he had sex with a minor), 2011 ESWC champion fromFrance but unfortunately lost. The battle was a fierce one. Botha won the first map and lost the second.
Ultimately Botha made it to the quarter finals, which is a very outstanding accomplishment for him indeed. He was also interviewed at the ESWC, check it out below.
Botha is currently in the U.S training at the RazerAcademy. He regularly updates his Facebook page, if you’d like to follow him and watch his streamed matches, go show him some support.

Ready.Set.GO Cup group stages come to an end
The Do Gaming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive cup has proved to be a very eventful one. With teams rising to the top, showing off their dominance quite early games have been very heated. The group stages however have now closed and will see the top two of each group progress to single eliminations next week.
This is what the brackets will look like:
