Impending co-op shooter Homefront: The Revolution actually looks pretty good. I have no idea why developer Dambuster Studios and publisher Deep Silver are using a franchise nobody cared about and not going the “new IP router” personally, but I digress. The game is shaping up to be a pretty good game.
Even better? News that it won’t have a season pass, or have any “pay to win” DLC. While the game will feature a micro-transaction system, it won’t offer those with unburdened credit cards anything they wouldn’t be able to earn in the game.
So says developer Fasahat Salim speaking to Gamespot. Salim says there’s nothing hidden behind a paywall.
“It’s absolutely not a pay-to-win system because everything we’re providing in these resistance crates is available for free in the game through normal play,” he told Gamespot. “All we’re offering is, for those players that don’t necessarily have the time to invest in the game, to unlock those cool things. It’s basically just a time saver for them; a shortcut to unlocking these things. They pay a little bit of money but they’re not getting anything that’s exclusive to them.”
There’s no seasons pass or map packs, but the game will be supported with content for at least a year after release.
“We’re not doing any sort of packs. We’re not making map packs or anything like that,” he added. “As we’re done with a mission, we’re going to release it, the community can go ahead and play it, and we’re going to keep doing that for at least a year after release.”
Homefront: The Revolution is coming to PC and new-gen consoles in May.

Hoping that this is a good game. Fallout 4 was cool, not great. Tomb Raider was cool, not great. Homefront, The Division and Ghost Recon Wildlands need to live up to their hype. Doom should put a plaster on any owies.

I enjoyed the 1st Homefront. I know not many people did but I thought it was cool. That said, watching the video something feels off about the graphics. Hopefully they improve on it
