What’s in a name? Even though it doesn’t have any effect on the hardware itself, a good console name can make or break the sales of such a device. When marketing does their job properly, you get ideas like the PlayStation or Super Nintendo thrown other around. Other times, you get a console named after a terrible British band or the Wii U.

Nintendo’s last console may have suffered for that terrible decision to name itself after the shriek of a Kung Pow: Enter The Fist character, but at least their next device sounds a tad bit more original: The Nintendo Switch. And that’s because it’s a name with multiple meanings. “We decided that this name would be the best fit for our product for two reasons,” A Nintendo representative said to Nintendo Dream Magazine via Nintendo Everything.

It represents one of the defining features of the Switch, the ability to seamlessly ‘switch’ between the TV screen and Switch’s screen, while also embodying the idea of being a ‘switch’ that will flip, and change the way people experience entertainment in their daily lives.

Look, I’ll take anything not branded “Wii U”. But I like what I’m seeing and March can’t come soon enough. Before then, Nintendo will host a big shindig that we probably won’t be invited to, but we’re going to gatecrash anyway. Geoff says he’ll spray me with butter so that I can fit through the airvents, because there’s a nary a console around that can escape the clutches of a half-naked greased-up South African.

And after seeing some more of the next Legend of Zelda game in action in the hands of a hyper-active American talk show host, I’m once again drinking deep from that Nintendo Kool-Aid. Anyway, be right back. I’ve got to pack all his butter into my carry-on luggage for the January trip to New York.

You WANT to see Darryn half-naked and covered in butter?

Um….No, no I’m not going to ask any questions. I don’t want those answers.
