Forza 6 adds NASCAR expansion

Forza Motorsport has been the leading driving simulator around for years now, and Turn 10 really knows what fans want. They’ve been supplementing the already fantastic Forza 6 with content since launch, and yesterday added a brand new expansion up for sale. NASCAR is finally debuting in Forza 6, and it’s bringing with it a heap of content for the true American racing fan out there.

Being the biggest form of motorsport in the USA, NASCAR has been a long time coming. The expansion, which is on sale now for just $20, is adding 24 brand new cars to the bursting roster, and additional track and a host of new features. Homestead-Miami Speedway will be the new home to NASCAR on a digital front, with cars from some of the most famous drivers and teams the format has seen over the years.

Not only that, but you’ll be able to take the NASCAR out of America and pit all of the new cars against your old favourites around the world. Want to know how NASCAR best fare against demons like the Ariel Atom and Le Mans prototypes? Well you can, with the content permeating through the rest of Forza 6 just as you would expect it to.

The expansion also brings some new features to race formats, such as the ability to have rolling starts, quick pit stops and an all new drifting engine. These play more into the way NASCAR actually works in the race, but it’ll be good to have the options available for other races too.

If you’re a fan of NASCAR at all, it’s really a no-brainer, but I’m glad there’s content here for some of the less initiated (like me). I’ve always strangely enjoyed how NASCAR works, but never given enough time to actually watching it. Forza 6 will include voiceovers from current and past NASCAR stars to help fill in those history gaps, which is a neat touch.

It’s available only on Xbox One now, but hopefully all this content eventually makes its way to the fantastic Forza Apex beta on Windows 10 too.

  1. $20 to drive around and around an oval digitally is quite steep. There’s what 2 manufacturers in Nascar with 50 variations of liveries???

3 manufacturers, Toyota Chevy and ford, teams built there own chassis, or buy from other teams so even cars of the same manufacturers don’t mean they are the same cars,

Nascar vs F1 or even Indy Car, No comparison. Nascar is very boring.

“Forza Motorsport has been the leading driving simulator around for years now” That is sacrilegious. Any GT fan will hold on to the Idea…..that Gran Turismo is better. Even if we are wrong. GT is better.
