Mass Effect Andromeda

The original Mass Effect trilogy was all about forging friendships, and then taking your friends on an adventure to save the universe. At least, that’s what it was for me. I loved getting to know the various characters, understanding what makes them tick, and then heading off to save everyone from a massive threat. This time around, while I’m sure there will still be people to meet and connect with, the focus isn’t so much about saving the universe from a threat. It’s about venturing off into the unknown.

Here is the new teaser for Mass Effect Andromeda that was released:

Obviously I’m mainly excited for N7 day to hurry up and get here. I want a full trailer, I need to know more! But at the same time, I kinda like that I’m not being given all the info right now. Remember Dragon Age: Inquisition and how we were getting screen shots every week for ages? As much as I loved those screens and it kept me excited for the game to release, I also just wanted to get my hands on the actual game. With Mass Effect Andromeda coming early next year (barring any delays), we don’t actually have too long to wait anymore.

One detail the trailer does show mirrors something that was hinted at a couple of months ago. Instead of having players choose to play as a male or female version of a character, it appears that the protagonists will be male and female. Yup, we might be playing as siblings like in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, something that can make gameplay a lot more varied and gives room for some very interesting storytelling. But enough conjecture, I want some solid information. Hurry up 7 November, so I can find out more about Andromeda!

Did you say Journey? I’m going to be that guy that listens to this song as I drive alone on a planet in my space buggy.

Driving the Mako was fun! Was I the only one thinking “We’re Doomed” when the Mako’s rolled up towards the final battle in Mass Effect 3?

You missed out on one when the plot unfolds and the Vigil track kicks in. Memorable moment of note. I would go so far as to say it is my most cherished memory of the series. ( Mass Effect 1 )

Meeting and connecting with such a colourful variety of people is one of the reasons the ME trilogy is my favorite series of games. So I really don’t hope the sway too far away from it.
Exploration is just a bonus to me when playing a game like Mass Effect.

Methinks he doesnt know what incest is.
being in another universe makes incest logistically impossible.

Maybe incest is to blame for him not understanding the term…….

He’s obviously talking about Bioware’s tendency to make ALL the things and people romance-able. In this case, he’s talking about the possibility of an incestuous relationship between the main character and their sibling. I don’t personally think we’ll see that, but it wasn’t hard to figure out. The other comments indicate people like to throw insults rather than actually read and think. Makes me sad.

They have never even hinted at incest (which is sick). Interracial / species / same sex yes, but never incest.

          Hence the comment.

One does not even make a joke about something like this.

“…rather than actually read and think”

Oh believe me, I read it, and thought WTF

Just from a advertising point of view, This commercial or promo does very little to inspire… It’s actually very drab.

I disagree. Marketing is about tapping into peoples want and need habits. Just purely from a want perspective, This does not inspire one to go out and buy. It’s not inviting anyone new to the party. It would make more sense as a toilet paper commercial in terms of its creativity and tone.

Hopefully, they’ll keep the obnoxious SJW student political yarn to a minimum in this game. I’m still going to wait for it to be bargain binned though.
