I sat down last night with a proper intention of at least scratching the surface of my towering backlog. I ended up playing… nothing. To my dismay, none of the dozens of titles in my library called out to me in any significant way, so I spent the rest of the evening watching Dota 2 and playing Overwatch instead.
You’d think that particular experience, so fresh in my memory, would’ve taught me something about avoiding unnecessary game purchases. And yet, here I sit, wondering if I should throw money at the latest Humble Bundle.
“No,” I keep telling myself. But wait, what’s this, my credit card? Yes, it’s out already. All I need to do is input some numbers, and all these games in the ‘Survive This’ Humble Bundle will be mine for next to nothing…
O brave new world, that has such bundles in‘t. On this episode of Humble vs. Wild, we’ve foraged a whole bundleful of exploration and survival games to keep your fighting spirit strong. Build, investigate, scavenge, and conquer at your will. Above all, stay alive: it sounds simple, but can you survive this bundle?
Pay what you want for Tharsis, Savage Lands (Early Access), and Kholat. Pay $1 or more to receive a coupon for 10% off Humble Monthly for new subscribers. Pay more than the average price and you’ll also get Space Engineers (Early Access), Rust (Early Access), and Shelter 2. Pay $14 or more for all of that plus Planetbase.
Ok, maybe I’m not that interested. I do enjoy the odd survival game here and there, but there’s very little here that appeals to me to be completely honest.
Though, one title does catch my eye – Rust. I can have it for the low fee of around $5 (the average at the moment), along with several other titles. It usually costs around R210 alone on Steam.
Yeah look, I have no need to grow my backlog, but I am sorely tempted regardless! What about you? Will you be throwing money at the ‘Survive This’ Humble Bundle? All its content can be yours for just $14!

Rust is terrible. 7 Days to Die is better.

I suppose it depends if you prefer Pve or PvP cause rust just turns into constant pvp since there is nothing else to do 1 hour in.

Ye the Rust gangbangers have put me off in it’s entirety. At least 7 Days to Die gives you a better chance, albeit slightly only ;p

Lots of hours poured into Rust. Great game as long as you don’t play solo. Always have friends…always
