I don’t even need a proper headline for all these Mortal Kombat X videos

Kinda looks like a younger Steven Seagal

Like most of you, I’m also getting tired of talking about Mortal Kombat X. I’ve been dumping hyperbole-coal into the Mortal Kombat X train for what seems like forever now, ever since the game was first announced. I’m still excited for the game, make no mistake, and it’s only a few more days until its out in the wild. Crap, there I go with that crazy hyperbole talk again. Crazy like Kung Lao’s 20% combo attack kids! CRAP, I DID IT AGAIN!

I’m going to shut up now, and hit you with videos instead. Fan favourite and bastard-boss Goro will be joining the roster as a pre-order bonus, payable playable DLC character and bonus entrant in next year’s Komplete Kollection. Here’s what he looks like in action, thanks to GamesHQMedia capturing the recent Kombat-Kast:

Plus check out his fatalities. Rather disarming stuff:

And like any other game on the way, Mortal Kombat X does have a launch trailer to go with it as well. A launch trailer, that uses the catchy hit Chop Suey from hardcore awesome band, System Of A Down. Wake up! Grab a brush and put on a little bit of make-up! Hide the scars to  sjdghsalkghaslkg! Why your leave your keys on the table!? Is it beacue smgskghsdl;kgjsd;flkgj?!

Mortal Kombat X is finally, finally out on April 14. And once I have it, I’m going to leave Geoff’s face with a System Of The Downs when my overconfidence and lack of any skill whatsoever pays off and kicks his ass in the head.

I wonder why they passed up the chance to use Cigaro in this trailer… “My c**k is much bigger than yours, my c**k can walk right through the door….” I suppose it’ll be the ultimate battle cry once you execute a fatality flawlessly….

I still maintain that’s it’s ridiculous that you have to pay for characters that are supposed to be there.
But people do pay for it, so whose fault is it in the end?

No. If we did not have internet, we would have not have DLC. We would have had proper expansion packs, like in days of old. Or, even better yet, we would have gotten games that felt like you got your money’s worth with regards to content.
Death to the Internet I say!
And I know that is not going to happen. So yeah, I blame people and the internet.

            April 7, 2015 at 10:58

I agree. I always use PayDay2 as an example. They have a few free DLC’s every now and then, and then they have pay-for DLC’s. They didn’t remove content from the base game, these new DLC’s are actually new heists and weapons and characters.
Best of all, if ONE of your friends has the heist DLC, he can host it and anyone can join.

            April 7, 2015 at 11:04

That’s what I’m talking about, but that is also more of an expansion tradition, where they release the content as they’ve developed it after release, investing time and money into it to make sure it’s worth while, the idea of releasing DLC on launch, especially pay for DLC, makes it feel rushed and begs for the question to be asked “Did they develop this for a cashgrab or are they selling us an incomplete game?”

            April 7, 2015 at 11:04

            Yes. Agreed.
I miss the good old days of expansion packs.

I hate DLC, but I’m in the minority. Millions of people buy DLC every year killing the industry little by little in my opinion. Sure developing AAA games is expensive but it’s implementation is wrong. It all feels like gouging and after they’ve made their cash they release an all inclusive game anyways. I might even take a page out of the master races page and sit on my ass and wait for a special unless it’s a game my friends want to play online day one.

You see, where my problem comes in is where GTA V is released on the same day, also, there is no “Pay for this content to be unlocked”, it’s old fashioned, included in the game, yes at full retail price, but every aspect of the multiplayer is included, which makes it a hell of a lot more appealing than this… DLC this DLC that…why not Zoidberg is what I say….

Except that GTA V is over a year old and will probably be using Social Club (we’re talking pc right?). So I’m only buying GTA V on special one-day. Definitely not on release. Not paying $60 for an old game.
But yes, why not Zoidberg? 😀

Ahaah!! You see, even with social club being included and it being an oldish game (which has been sold on both old and current gen consoles, brilliantly so but a discussion for another day) I wouldn’t mind forking out full price and not paying for DLC (ok, just before I start sounding like our friend Ryanza) because it’s never been a DLC case for Rockstar, yes, they had the two expansions for GTA IV, but that was it, a lesson learnt, we as gamers shouldn’t pay for content that should be sold with the original game, I can’t remember who they interviewed w.r.t. RS, but when asked if we’ll be seeing a GTA 6, he just responded with: “We have enough content for the next 50 years” which I personally find amazing, yes we might pay for it at a later stage, but it’s not their business model…Sorry for the long reply…

I agree with you 100% on the DLC there. It definitely makes it way more appealing.
If I had that $60 to put into a game, MK would definitely not be it and GTA V would be high on my list.
I’m looking forward to GTA V, there’s no question. But it’s not going to be “release buy” for me. Not with The Witcher 3 being here soon.

I have to be honest, I’m still battling between The Witcher and GTA, I think, and this has not been field tested yet, but I will have to somehow grow an extra set of eyes and arms and play both at the same time… Maybe I should ask the old Top Gear team to come up with a solution to my predicament…
