PS4 vs Xbox One 2015 – Who has the better exclusives this year?

I’m of the firm opinion that you can’t go wrong buying either an Xbox One or a PlayStation 4. But owning both consoles? Not exactly necessary. So long as you have one of the two (And a Wii U for all of those delightful Nintendo games), you’re pretty much sorted. Each console has their own pros and cons, but they both work, and that’s what matters. But what matters even more, are the games. Here’s what either side will be tempting you with this year.

LADIES AND GERMANS! In this corner, we have the Japanese destroyer, the brawler that floats like a Wonder Swan and punches harder than a Sega Game Gear attacking AA batteries! It’s the Sony PlayStation 4. Let’s take a look at the tale of the tape of this contender for the 2015 bout, and which exclusives it brings to the table:

TheOrder1886.jpg

  • Bloodborne
  • Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance
  • Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture
  • Fat Princess Adventures
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Hellblade
  • Let It Die
  • Omega Quintet
  • Primal Carnage: Extinction
  • Ratchet and Clank
  • The Order: 1886
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
  • Until Dawn

And in the green corner! The best of the west. The trigger-man. He’ll vibrate your fingers in aaaaaaall the right places! The Xbox One! And he didn’t come alone tonight, as his exlcusive posse joins him ringside!

RiseoftheTombRaiderCopy.jpg

  • Funk Of Titans
  • Crackdown
  • Fable Legends
  • Halo 5: Guardians
  • Inside
  • Quantum Break
  • Rise Of The Tomb Raider*

So let’s not mince words here. The PS4 is winning when it comes to sheer numbers. Even if you strip away the smaller (but no less important) games, they’ve got a solid line-up ready. But you look at the Xbox One, and the focus on fewer but bigger games is more than evident. And I’m looking for games this year that offer something else. Out of all of those games however, the one I’m really looking forward to, might be a surprise.

It’s Fable Legends.

FableLegends.jpg

I still explained how back at E3 I had a blast playing the game behind closed doors. It’s the one game on those two lists, that makes me want to be social. Because it gives me an opportunity to be the massive dick that I want to, and know that I can, be. The whole dungeon master side of that game is too much fun, and I’m looking forward to experimenting more with it when the game releases. I never, ever thought that I’d be happy to play a Fable game again.

But that’s what happens to be up for grabs this year. Xbox has fewer, but bigger games in my opinion. The PlayStation 4 also has some big guns, but they’re also making good on their indie promises. But no matter what your console is this year, you’re going to have something to justify that purchase.

And that makes us all winners.

*Timed exclusive. Yes, I know. But it still counts for now.

I don’t like any of the games shown on both lists. GT7 and Halo 5 will be the highlights imo. But truth of the matter, all console guys are just waiting for one game… The Division.

Are they really? Considering Ubisoft’s form with new IPs, I’m skeptical.

I guess saying all is a bit much. But the reason I say this is simple; all, and yes, all of the guys I played with on PS3 bought the PS4 or Xbox One to get ready for the game. All gaming company’s are trying new things. Just look at BF4, probably the most bugged game of 2014 and yet there are still a lot of people that play it and pre-ordered Hard Line.

And it’s good being skeptical, the last time I jumped on the hype train I bought Destiny. I know many like the game where I can’t believe they call it a game.

I don’t care much for how or why they do things, if the game works and I enjoy it, it’s a good game.

You are right about being skeptical.

There’s been an influx of bugged games lately. It’s a long story but the short of it is fromheart, rvation, it’s half the Gamers fault and half of the Gaming Corporations fault.

The reason I say this is somewhere along the line Gaming Corporations lost sight of what it means to make a game with quality, with heart, like in the days of Donkey Kong Country. Greed took over and started to see gamers as cashcows and with that quality dropped.

Now where it is the gamers fault is they keep buying these under developed under qualwigames. Gamers keep buying, they keep selling. Cause big gaming corporations demand the Developers (IPs) to lockdown and slave away churning out crap after crap (Assassins Creed/Unity anyone?). So the Devs behind the IPs get caught in the cross fire between greedy corporate devs and the gamers. IPs get the majority of the blame, Corporations get off practically freely.

The gamer has to just stop, stop buying crap. EA – Sims 4 is a prime example. PRIME!. See how much content was taken out of that game and gamers STILL bought it. Seriously! How insane is that?!

Which brings me to my next point, Why? Why do gamers settle for second best? Is it because they believe in the IP hoping that they may change when it is the big corporate executives and CEO’s steering the ship (see above).

Is it that we reminisce in nostalgia & look through rose tinted glasses from when our favourite IPs used to make good quality games from the heart hoping they will go back to that & watching as the quality goes away slowly not understanding why attacking the IP with flaming till we realize the name is there but the heart is gone and all that’s left is an empty shell.

            RARE Ltd (Formally Rareware)
            Maxis

            As examples.

How it starts. CD Project Red is a good example. Compromise. Don’t ever say you will never fall or won’t happen to me as a person. Titanic.

Indie Devs have heart like it was in oldschool. Get big, get bought out then the big corporations take over and the we watch as the IP gets slowly stripped aside, while we as loyal Fans watch the IP we followed for so long get swallowed up by the mass production of crap games that the supply demands of regular players.

But now the result is, gamers have bought so much crap for so long (hate to admit I myself am guilty of buying an under quality game) that the industry is flooded with crap quality. We as gamers are only now realizing it, even the casuals cause this is what gamers have bought for so long. Rome wasn’t built in a day neither do people crumble in a day.

What you see today is just the result of a slow building process. Kinda like Feminism but now people as a whole are seeing it for what it really is and fighting back.
Like people are seeing the bad quality for what it is even through the Game Trailers they try to spruce up to wool over the eyes you (I’m lookin at you mass effect),

Time reveals everything, in the gaming industry and life.

How to change the quality of the AAA gaming industry? Stop buying crap, stop saying “OMFG such a bad game!!” But then turning and saying SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

Observe the games from a distance, you DON’T have to put your hand in the fire to get burned. Read USER reviews example Metacritic not from Magazines that tell you what they are paid to say.

Be an informed gamer but most of all make your own evaluations.

            Points to consider.

            Make your own INFORMED decision

            Don’t buy crap

No careless shut up n take my money. (Passion is good carelessness is not)

Keep an eye on the IP you have interest in. If it is apart of a giant corp read what it is like before it joined that corp. What’s was it like, has it changed in the way it producers games. (RARE is an example, they aren’t who they use to be)

Keep an eye on the Indie devs you follow, are they starting to compromise as they get bigger on their stance and quality.

Most of all Enjoy your gaming, just don’t get burned in the process.

            Love you all.

Peter Pickle out. (Not my name but sounds cool.)

I get the feeling of “stick it to the man” when reading this, that being said, I cannot agree more with you. If I do a half ass job my clients don’t accept my drawings… Why must I buy a half-ass game that has no QC done on it.

As simple as the solution is, don’t buy crap, the execution is not that simple. Gaming company’s have larger media relation teams then actual developers. Why? So that they can make shit games but sell them as they see fit.

I do believe that some games where made with the best of intentions and only execution failed us all. It’s easy to say that older games where made for gamers and today’s games are made for money, yet, your true classics did not run servers this big, they did not cater for large multiplayer. No, at best they were there for co-op or single player.

And yes, Peter Pickle does sound cool…

probably not, i never played me3 with anything other than a full team, no one was ever left behind on me2, but you could manage to kill a fair bit of them between the crash, sending the wrong engineer, biotic and team leaders.
then getting rid of wrex, tali, legion and mordin in me3 is pretty easy aswell.

you could probably go in with less than half.

            January 7, 2015 at 16:29

Americans like to name call. I’m not saying all of them but they sure did create that stereotype.

          • Brady miaau

            January 7, 2015 at 16:32

I play regular chess games with 3 Americans. No name calling there. Two of them are younger than me (and MUCH better too, dammit).

I think you are making a generalisation (note the s, please, Mr Murphy 🙂 ) based on a perception created by the younger, more vocal on-line element.

We in South Africa should also consider the name calling and perceptions created over our last 150 years of history. That is all I am saying.

          • Brian Murphy

            January 7, 2015 at 16:37

Generalisation or Generalization are both accepted forms of the word 😀 Amusingly enough, Disqus recognizes Generalization as the proper spelling, and has the red underline for Generalisation (though, that’s not surprising, there are many words that Disqus either only shows one accepted spelling, or doesn’t show it at all). 😀

Thanks for speaking out about it though, talking shit about entire countries doesn’t really help anything. And for someone like myself who really tries not to insult people online (unless they fucking ask for it), it’s bothersome to be lumped into some group that I have no affiliation with.

          • Brady miaau

            January 7, 2015 at 16:44

BUT, one of my favourite (note the u, right?) is teasing my American friends and sometimes co-workers about the slight differences in spelling.

In 1986, we went to Miami. Great. At the airport they told us to go to gate X. We could not find it and the people got frustrated with us. Turned out Thru was “This way” or somesuch. Really confused us!

But I think your Disqus and my Disqus are on different settings or is it Chrome? Ah, whatever.

And no problem, I am a very tolerant and relaxed (mostly, it seems if you work for me, I am not a relaxed chap) person most of the time.

          • Brian Murphy

            January 7, 2015 at 16:50

I actually prefer to be corrected when spelling is involved, so it doesn’t bother me. The slight differences between countries though can be confusing, since the proper spelling here, can be improper elsewhere 😀

Not sure about the Disqus settings, but I’ve seen numerous times where a word is spelled correctly, but is showing a red underline. So, it could very well be regional, however, it’s still definitely missing some words.

          • Brady miaau

            January 7, 2015 at 16:56

Ah, but yes. I use the correct spelling. The Queens English, you see. It is, as plain as day, that simple. So there. Hah! (Yes, yes, I am sure you can say something similar, perspective being what it is. Is life not grand?)

On a more serious note, it is interesting to see how languages develop in various parts of the world, how culture effects it and so forth.

To quote an old MAD magazine: I have read all your books, you are much more articulate on paper. said to a public speaker after a speech. I have no idea what that has to do with anything, but there we go.

Turn it into whatever the hell you want, you’re still branding the entirety of America with a very broad paint brush.

As far as name calling coming from America, provide statistics or it’s simply anecdotal evidence, which, I could use also to brand any number of non-America societies in any number of negative ways. But, I don’t, because there’s far more variety to each country than just the vocal minority who show up online.

Never said you were an idiot.

However, your incomplete/improper sentence structure is the problem here.

“I guess name calling has it’s place. That place is called America.”

You use anecdotal information, to support a conclusion that you then word improperly that gives off the impression that you’re speaking about an entire country. It’s not idiocy, simply an oversight.

Notice though, I haven’t actually gotten pissed off at you. I haven’t called you a name, and I’m not getting heated about it. Simply responding with a level head.

Incomplete, improper, bad spelling, bad grammar, DRM, Xbox One hate, Call of Duty hate, Witcher 3. That should sum me up on here.

The human scope is vastly limited yet we tend to allow it to mold and shape our perception. Even if you saw 2,000 Americans name calling to generalize an entire country of well over 300 million on the basis of 2,000 is very silly. Even if you saw 10,000 it is still not nearly enough people to make a sweeping generalization of a country with a 300 million population. You got called an idiot because you said something idiotic and your further responses did nothing to remove the status from yourself.

I didn’t say all americans are name calling …
I said that if there is a name caller, it will most likely be an american.

You mentioned 2000 americans calling names. Now what would the number be of other countries with name callers, if the american number is 2000. Low double digits is my guess.

If you want to play new shit. Get PS4.”

I think you get just as many re-runs on the PS as on the Xbox. How much truly new IP is truly out there?

Ok, ok. That was great, thanks.

Xbox One is a pretty good all round entertainment system, we have hardly had the TV on without it. It is just so easy to use, I came home from work last night and my wife had an Opera on. Nothing unusual there (we have DVD’s), but she was streaming it from the net, via the Xbox One on the home TV. Much more easily than on the Xbox 360, to be honest.
My internet research (of supposedly, you know, facts) led me to believe that, for the purposes I wanted it, the Xbox One was the better choice. We are very happy with it, Kinect and all. It is just cool. BUT, never, obviously, owned a ps4, so how would I know, truly?

Sure there will be a few games you can purchase, but most you’ll need to be online to purchase thru stream. This is the evolution Microsoft tried to bring about and prepare you for with the original Xbox One policy. Used games how many used PC games do you see at Gamestop? Exactly none.

You say getting PC DRM games would be better then consoles.

A pretty good gaming laptop is still going to run you at least 1000 to be able to run at near max settings.

So once consoles have PC type DRM are you going to give up gaming? There are lots of gamers that are buying their copies digitally. So there is no second hand market for games bought digitally. Do you really see a big used PC games section at Gamestop?

See I think people like you who opposed the Xbox One drm simply didn’t and still don’t understand it. You don’t understand that all you had to do was install the game and would never need the disc again, unless you uninstalled the game and wanted to reinstall it. Further more since you seem kinda cheap what would stop you from buying say the witcher 3 and letting all your friends install it?

Whether you like it or not we are moving to a always on always connected world. Hell if you have cable or DSL then that’s a always on connection, start up your computer and you’re able to browse the internet. Your cell phone always on and connected. More and more household appliances are going to be connected.

Fuck dude. You mentioned the PS5 meaning the future of consoles. What I was saying in simple …. If the PS5 has heavy DRM. If the next Xbox has heavy DRM. And both fucking consoles has like PC architecture. Then it would just as well be better to go fucking game on a fucking PC with that PC DRM shit. This is the 3rd fucking time I am saying the same fucking thing and you still not getting it. You like disregard everything I say and then try to speak to me in this shitty ass way. Fuck I don’t have the time nor patience to deal with this troll shit.

And just to add. whether you like it or not, people with dsl and cable doesn’t even equate to half of the worlds population. The future holds 100% connected but let’s not act like the future in now. The Witcher 3 caters to both sides of the equation. And fuck you for wanting to try and manage what I do with my copy of The Witcher 3.

See that’s why you mad… Cuz you know what’s right. Do the fucking math you shit tard. If one million people bought the witcher and allowed at least 5 friends that’s 5 million copies being played but only 1 million sold. Then you the same dumb fuck would be crying for a sequel, but the devs don’t have enough money because of brats like you .

I mean you’re such a lame ass. If I go buy numbers then 50 million Xbox live gold subs on the 360 is over half the buyers. Now not to mention those who feel they don’t want to pay for Xbox live gold but still have the internet. So I’m going to go out on a limb and say that total amount of users that have internet is around 80% both on Xbox and PlayStation.

You called me a fanboy. So I don’t know if it’s worth replying to you. Both consoles have DRM. The word I used above was ‘heavy’ DRM. Like Microsoft wanting to DRM retail copies of games and killing off the second-hand market. I used heavy DRM for a reason and not light DRM for all the shit you mentioned.

Sign in and play them instantly – lol, Don’t Support DRM.

Yes of course you have to sign in if you are going to take a 3-4 TB USB 3 hard drive that can be completely full of games to any their console and plug and play they are going to need something to at least verify they are not just copy’s.
Can you do that on any other console No
Can you do it on the PC ? legally No.
Xbox One has less DRM than the PS4 and your crappy PC.

dude it’s time to let it go. I am not the one to reply to all the time. I don’t give a shit about your music, movie, streaming, hdd size and misinformation.

If you can buy a retail game and play it without the need of internet and logging in shit, then I am happy. Xbox One wanted to take that away and because of the hate Microsoft got from that DRM their wanted to implement, you can now enjoy more freedom with less DRM. I will never forget that because people must not forget what Microsoft tried to do with DRM and XBox One. If you become complacent now, Microsoft will try that heavy DRM shit again. Remember it’s just a flip switch away.

I am done with you now. Clearly you don’t want to understand. You want to push your fanboi shit on me. That was clear from the beginning ( your anti fanboy comment) and look how you turned out.

Going to have to disagree with your conclusions here Darryn. Just looking at those two lists, you can count 5 AAA budget titles for each console. Bloodborne, Disgaea 5, Gran Turismo 7, The Order and Uncharted 4 versus Halo, Crackdown, Quantum Break, Tomb Raider (the vast majority of its fanbase is on Playstation btw), and Fable Legends.

So, while the big budget titles are a statistical tie, the additional titles go in Sony’s favor. Additionally, since people know that Tomb Raider is a timed exclusive, we’re accustomed to seeing people waiting out the timed exclusivity on games that aren’t system sellers (Tomb Raider hasn’t been a system seller for years).

Additionally, you also failed to mention Street Fighter’s exclusivity for Sony (and it’s not timed). Beyond that, it’s a matter of preference, really. Which is difficult (at best) to gauge.

GT5….was the only delayed game. So, excuse the french, but what the fuck? One game in a franchise of 6 (not including PSP version, and not including the Japanese only releases), gets delayed and now the entire franchise is the king of delays? Seriously? You need some new material.

That aside, I would suggest that SF has a better chance of releasing in 2015 than GT7, and if he’s going to list GT7…may as well list SF.

            January 7, 2015 at 16:22

Yeah, that and leaving off 8 exclusives for the Ps4 for 2015, kinda goes to show which console is in better position, right now (not that we needed a list for it, PS4 is dominating WW sales).

The more pressing issue for Microsoft is the Q1-2 of 2015, where they simply have a void of nothing, to go up against some pretty decent new IP for Sony (Bloodborne/The Order). Most of the titles on Darryn’s list are releasing Q3-4 2015.

What I could see happening, is another 10 months of PS4 domination, followed by MS lightly chipping away at the lead in Nov/Dec 2015, like they did during the holidays 2014 (In the US/UK only…the gap widened everywhere else). Unless Sony launches GT7 holday 2015, which, provided the advertising and functionality is there, could be HUGE for Sony, sorta like Halo will be for Microsoft. Not really convinced that Fable, or Crackdown will move any significant numbers of consoles, given the inconsistency of those two franchises. Though to be fair I have the same misgivings about Bloodborne and The Order, since they’re both new IP’s. Granted, Bloodborne’s pedigree may help it move some hardware, but, the Dark Souls/Demon Souls franchises are more ‘niche’ than your Halo’s or Gran Turismo’s, so whatever bump in HW sales, I’m assuming it’ll be small (if at all).

Either way, it’ll be an interesting year.

Still, it’s difficult to actually have this conversation when both sides are missing data.

I think Quantum Break looks different enough to matter, if it works. Fable legends scare me, because Fable 2 and 3 were just meh, fun to play, quick to bore, too long to finish.

The Order looked fantastic a year ago, not so sure now

Wrong. Folks who’ve been paying attention to the last 2 gens, understand corporate speak. When a game is exclusive to a platform, they are very upfront about it. When a game is a timed exclusive, we’ve seen how they bandy about with the wording, just like they’ve done with Tomb Raider.

And neither S-E or Microsoft have come out and said it’ll never release on Playstation. S-E’s thinking seems to be providing it to the XB1 community first (at the same time Uncharted 4 launches), and then releasing it on Playstation after the UC4 launch (because Tomb Raider likely won’t stand a chance against it at retail).

Doesn’t matter. Neither Microsoft or S-E have outright stated that it’s MS exclusive. So, sorry to you, but history tells us it’s coming to Playstation. And S-E wouldn’t be so dumb as to exclude the majority of their fanbase from a game, either. TR has always done better on Sony platforms.

            http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-12-09-square-enix-confirms-microsoft-will-publish-rise-of-the-tomb-raider

“Yes, Microsoft will be publishing Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox. Microsoft has always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and they will get behind this game with more support across development, marketing and retail than ever before, which we believe will be a step in continuing to build the Tomb Raider franchise as one of the biggest in gaming.”

“Our partnership with Capcom around Dead Rising has been good for Dead Rising,” he said. “We’ve been able to invest and to raise – maybe it’s a bit egotistical – the notoriety of that franchise.

“Crystal has been investing in that game and Square has as well, in Tomb Raider as a franchise, and wanting to put it at the highest level, with the big triple-A franchises out there, but that’s expensive.

“And they want to build that game up to the same level as any of the huge triple-A games out there. It used to a big dominant game. Crystal has done a great job in rebuilding it since ’09, when they started kickstarting it, but continuing to invest at that level, it takes a partnership.”

Square Enix is yet to comment on whether it will eventually release Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC or PS4.

Because they won’t, It’s been funded by Microsoft. I have no doubt it will come to PC though as Windows is Microsoft anyway.

          • Brian Murphy

            January 7, 2015 at 16:50

“Square Enix is yet to comment on whether it will eventually release Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC or PS4.”

Which is literally confirmation that it’s a timed exclusive. This is exactly how Microsoft has functioned for the past 8 years. You need to pay more attention to how companies behave.

          • simplemindedgenius36

            January 7, 2015 at 16:56

It’s not confirmation, It’s conjecture from yourself. As I said, Microsoft are funding development of the game and are publishing it. It will not appear on a rival system.

          • Brian Murphy

            January 7, 2015 at 17:04

No, it’s confirmation. The last 8 years have shown exactly how companies with a timed exclusive deal behave. Namely, not really being firm on whether a game is exclusive or not. Not really my fault if you haven’t paid attention to/picked up on this.

Microsoft annoyed allot of people last gen with this tactic, especially in Japan, when games that they’d stated were exclusive, were actually timed, and then came out with more content and more polish on the PS3. So, rather than take a hit via public perception, they simply leave it up in the air. If this game were actually exclusive, they would’ve said it loud and proud when it was announced. Since they didn’t, you know it’s coming to other platforms.

You can call it conjecture if you like, but the fact is, if this game is truly exclusive, this is the first game they’ve not come outright and said it’s exclusive. Which is a terrible business model, since, as I said, the bulk of TR’s fanbase is on Playstation.

          • simplemindedgenius36

            January 7, 2015 at 17:08

It’s the exact same situation as DR3 and Ryse, they have said so themselves. You are clutching at straws.

          • Brian Murphy

            January 7, 2015 at 17:09

Which still doesn’t make it exclusive…you’re murdering your own point. TR is not exclusive to the One, it’s a timed exclusive deal. Your assertion that it won’t come to Playstation, well, time will tell there. But, your assertion that it isn’t ‘timed’, is incorrect, since as you say it’s the same situation as Ryse/DR3, both of which are not exclusive to the One either.

          • simplemindedgenius36

            January 7, 2015 at 17:15

But they are exclusive to Microsoft, as Tomb Raider is. Which is my point.

          • Brian Murphy

            January 7, 2015 at 17:18

Incorrect. If it’s on PC, it can be played via Linux, Unix or Mac as well using the proper virtual machines.

And sorry, it’s already been established that exclusive means on one system, as there’ve been games in the past that released on only Sony hardware, that weren’t deemed exclusive because they also released on PS3, or PS Vita.

Exclusive means, exclusive. As in, won’t show up anywhere else, but that one place. That doesn’t define Tomb Raider.

And what was the length of that? 5 years lol? It only came out on another platform when the trilogy was complete and MS had no input in development, it was purely a publishing deal. Rise of the Tomb Raider has been co developed by MS from its initial conception. It’s a totally different beast.

Trying to be Final Fantasy like when even Final Fantasy is trying to be devel may cry. Gaming developers have gone way obscure.

Nintendo needs to stop with the Gimmicks.

Just make a proper next Gen console, proper controller (none of this wii nunchuck or dreamcast screen, move it around to aim bullshit) It’s that simple. Make the Zelda game like the in the trailer with up to date graphics.

Just get back to basics, high Powerful Console, Control with no nunchuck, screen the size of a mini iPad bullshit.

Keep Super Smash Bros high speed. RAREWARE (RARE) was the heart beat of Nintendo till RARE decided to sell it’s soul to the Devil EA for a price (30 pieces of gold was it Judas; Rare) and now nothing is left of the original RARE team but a name and an empty shell.

Without them Nintendo hasn’t been fullpar since. Nintendo have good work ethics, they don’t believe in the Layoff cycle like EA does or other companies.

I seriously & highly recommend you read up on Game Development layoff cycle.

In brief a company will hire huge amount of staff to finish a game even if it’s successful will fire them tearing familys apart or putting strain making them move 7 times in 2 years (I’m lookin at you EA ****T company.)

In short, Nintendo doesn’t need to rely on Exclusives as they are a name unto themselves, have original quality games they’re just going obscure a bit.

I myself like the PS4 as do many others, but in all honesty, I mean real all honesty. People still want to play Nintendo cause it lights up our child-like spirit but Nintendo has become subpar and people have tried to give Nintendo a chance for years before breaking away.

Who wants to be known to have a console after urine? It’s that bad for two consoles. That was the turn off for me.

Gamers want to be proud of their Console in the CONSOLE Wars. (That’s right PC Gamers, it’s a console war. Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbone) You calling them peasants just make you look despreate for attention). How can you be proud of a console named after urine.

“Hey guys! Want to play with my Wee?” Nintendo need to:

Up it’s game by making a proper compete with the big boys Next Gen console.

Stop with the Gimmickry bullshit with nunchucks, motion controls, IPad for a controller and just get back to the basic what a controller is for. Like PlayStation and Xbox.

STOP NAMING YOUR CONSOLE AFTER URINE NINTENDO!!! Call it the Dolphin or something like you were going to.

Nintendo still has it’s place but it is fading fast.

If Nintendo did that. You still wouldn’t buy it.

I don’t know what you’re talking about, but the new Zelda looks fucking amazing, at least it’s graphics aren’t going to age like Gears of War or Killzone from last gen, or hell even some of the games coming out for Xbox One and Ps4 that next generation we’ll all forget about and will definitely not remember for their visuals. Twilight Princess, though a great game, hasn’t aged well in the graphics department mainly because of it’s focus on a realistic colour pallet compared to the ones used in Skyward Sword, Windwaker or hell even OoT/MM.

I get what you’re saying with wanting Nintendo to make a “proper console”, but the thing is without Nintendo doing “gimicky” things we wouldn’t discover anything, and plus all the other companies wouldn’t able to copy Nintendo’s ideas. People love to hate on the gamepad, but it’s really the most sophisticated piece of Nintendo hardware I’ve seen and it just doesn’t get utilised as much as it should. It’s almost like having a keyboard with hotkeys except it’s a screen and can display so much more information.
The Wii remotes I can agree with. Get rid of them. But that’s why you have a pro controller. The Pro Controller is good for games like Bayonetta or Hyrule Warriors and for third part titles, not so great for Windwaker or Zombi U.

I don’t know what you mean by “Keep Super Smash Bros high speed”. Also you’re a bit wrong there about RARE. They were bought out by Microsoft, not EA. RARE at that time was falling apart and was just a mess, employees were leaving, games were being delayed, Nintendo was losing money in their 49% share of the company and Nintendo already had their own problems to deal with. Microsoft bought them thinking they’d get a sweet deal on some great games and even thought they acquired Donkey Kong, but sadly for both us the fans and for Microsoft, they didn’t acquire any of the talent that RARE used to have in the N64 days. In turn Nintendo did lose many iconic franchises but essentially they would have been stuck with the problems Microsoft had to deal with and never really fixed just kinda swept under the rug while also completely ruining iconic franchises. Sadly only a few gems have come out from RARE since their Microsoft acquisition.
But Nintendo does not need RARE to survive. RARE’s games were not the only games on the N64 and the Gamecube had a great library of games that still go unnoticed because it’s from the time of the PS2.

While I do agree about EA… I know that name very well my friend, not only are they butthurt over Nintendo refusing Origin to be the mainframe of the Wii U but for a while now they’ve been screwing over everyone and have ruined 3 of my all time favourite franchises in some way and are continuing to fuck up as many as they can!

        Moving on…

If your big turn off for a console is because it’s name relates to “urine” I think you need to sit back and look at your maturity level. The “wee” jokes got old in 2005, that was high school for me, all the while kids were waiting for Xbox 360 and trashing PS3 because it cost a fortune. Wii U is a dumb name yes, marketing really screwed up because it confused people and I think Nintendo really should have just called it the Nintendo U.

But that aside, I really am sick of this “console war”, it’s not a war at all, it’s just a bunch of children arguing over video games and shitting over the system they don’t own. I own all systems and I can safely say that it’s great to be a gamer that doesn’t trash everything. I own a gaming PC which does far better than any of the consoles I own but Nintendo for me still has a special charm that every other system just doesn’t. I’m glad they’re not like the PS4 or Xbox One are right now, which are just the same system save for the exclusives and features and hardly any difference in visuals. They are essentially 360.5 and PS3.5, and the systems are still struggling with optimisation even though they are basically just PC’s.

Nintendo still has it’s place, but this industry would rather rush games to the market and charge full price for unfinished games with pricey DLC to boot!
