10 teams cracked a direct invite to The International – Valve’s premium Dota 2 event. The remaining 6 slots were to be filled by means of qualifiers, played by teams from the Americas, China, Europe, and Southeast Asia. The American and Chinese winners were determined last week already, and the European and Southeast Asian yesterday. Which teams from those regions were successful in securing a spot for the prestigious tournament that now has a prize pool sitting at over $10 million?

I know some of you take your Dota 2 very seriously and have probably not yet watched yesterdays games. If that’s the case, look away, I do not wish to spoil anything for you.

Here are the remaining teams that’ll be going Seattle (via Gosu Gamers):

Americas

MERICA

China

China

Europe

EU

Southeast Asia

SEA

CompLexity, EHOME, Na’Vi, and MVP.Hot6 have all secured spots at The International! This leaves 2 open spots. Those will be filled by means of a Wild Card series by the runner-ups; North American Rejects, CDEC, Vega, and MVP.phx.

Teams

Personally, I’m glad Na’Vi secured a spot at the main event. While they may not be the same team they were a few years ago, I still have a soft spot for them. I don’t know how far they’ll be able to go this year though.

As a matter of interest, I took to Reddit to try find some statistics on each of the qualifiers (so as to see how close my predictions were). Ave-Nar shared this image.

Stats

Reddit is hardly a credible source (in most cases), but I doubt these stats were thumb sucked. I witnessed that insane 1028 GPM alchemist with my own eyes, so I’m gonna go ahead and assume all the other numbers are accurate.

The International will kick off on August the 3rd – just over two months from now. The stage is now set – we know what teams will be there. Who will come out top to win the event?
