Alright, we get it – gaming is officially a career option. Your mother was wrong when she said playing video games were a waste of time. Fine, but how good a career choice is it?

Well, if you play LoL, apparently a pretty good one. That is, if you manage to make it to the top five in the world. Granted, the top ten players all live in Asia, which is to be expected. But hey, the top five put together earned over a million USD. Not too shabby!

As you work your way down out of the top ten list, the averages fall to 70k, then 60, etc. Still, when converted into Rands, some South Africans could more than easily pay a bond while running around asking “Is that a rocket in your pocket?” or saying “Misery loves company”.

Noticing that it is clearly a team thing is there a team that can carry me. I have no idea about league of ledgends or any Dota type games but I am a great supporter. I was always useless at sports so never got picked so I have heaps of support experience. So if you are getting a team together and you need someone to support I am your guy, I don’t look so good in a cheerleading outfit but for $200k I am prepared to even do that.

Looking at those figures, I think that is JUST from the World Finals last year. The grand prize was $1million, and Taipai Assassins won it.

Note that this is just the tournament winnings, the majority of pro-gaming income comes from streaming revenues, Riot salaries(for participating in the LCS), Team salaries, individual sponsorship team sponsorship, merchandises,etc. Of course depending on their team, some of that prize money also goes to their coach/manager/staff.
