Whenever a non-comic book geek friend asks me to explain the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War to them, I always just summarize it as “All the heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe versus Thanos”. It seems though that I may be a liar. Maybe.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War) have previously spoke about the gigantic roster of heroes – including all the Avengers we’ve already met and who are still to come – who will be trying to stop Josh Brolin’s Thanos from finally possessing the full Infinity Gauntlet, the future is not so certain for the costumed heroes who currently find themselves on the small screen.

The Russos spoke with BadTaste.it (via ScreenCrush) and revealed that despite the fact that thanks to Marvel and Netflix’s collaborations, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and the Punisher may be as popular as Captain America and Iron Man right now, whether or not they show up Infinity War is still up in the air.

“The Marvel Universe is sprawling – the Marvel Cinematic Universe is enormous. Just think of all the characters that haven’t been introduced yet that are going to be introduced by the time that we’re working on Infinity War. We have a tough task just telling the stories of the characters who exist [on the big screen] in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, let alone adding the entire Marvel Television universe.

Anything is possible in Marvel. It’s certainly something we’re considering. But our focus is on telling the stories of the characters that currently exist on the movie side.”

As much I would love to see all the MCU heroes teaming up together, I actually think it would be better to keep the Netflix crew apart. Sure, reference each other and maybe have a couple of run-ins somewhere down the line, but I just can’t see Jessica Jones holding the line next Iron Man as they face down a purple faced sociopath. Actually, scratch that. She kind of has a thing for destroying guys who like the colour purple, so maybe she would be a good addition to the team after all.

What do you guys think? Should Daredevil and co keep to their street level heroism and leave the galaxy threatening alien despots for the big guns?

As long as Fox keeps the Fantastic Flops as far away as possible, then yes.

Well Luke Cage and Iron fist were both part of the Avengers at some point so it would be cool to see them part of the movie, but as we know these Hollywood type they will probably recast those roles with A list actors.
